Man I really hope we get to taste this feeling again one day. I was only 10 when we won our second flag, so could not appreciate it fully. Not at 32 going on 33, it's been long enough between drinks.
Me too mate.... 2017 would have been perfect I'm afraid I'll be 60 the next time we win

Fritch the first player since D Jarman to kick 6 in a GF.
& thought he was rubbish in the 1st quarter- looked nervous & was fumbly... but no one is going to remember after 6 goal bag.

The Dogs had all the momentum, but the margin wasn't very big. It just required Melbourne to rediscover the momentum, and they did.
God, they're a really professional downhill skiing team when they've wrapped the match up, though. ;)

thats not quite true though. Dogs had wrestled back momentum. It was all the play for after half time. Dogs won the arm wrestle, kicked 2 and was squeezing the mouse like a boa constrictor. 8 of the last 9 goals, controlled the start of the 3rd.

and then… the impossible

The game was of 3 periods of ascension

=> 4 of 5 goals
<= 8 of 9 goals
And then
=> 16 of 17 goals

Melbourne had only kicked 5 goals until midway through the third. They had kicked 1 goal in the last quarter and a half

let that sink in.

Melbourne had kicked just the one goal in a quarter and a half. The Dogs had all the momentum. The corpse was twitching

and then out of nowhere, 16 goals!!

the mouse turned into a Lion and ripped the Boa apart

that don’t happen everyday and flies in the face of what we know about grand finals and ultimate pressure

I seen it but I still don’t believe it

We'll get there one day. Ultimately, just got to appreciate how hard they are to win. It took the Dogs 50 years, the Dees 60, the Tigers nearly 40.

Joke's still on Lever, for the rest of his life he has to look at his premiership photo and see that moustache.
It's like that haircut Kevin Peterson had in that epic Ashes series. He said he still regrets that.
