how ****ing good are they? I've been listening to them for a while now but a night with cryptograms and some spliff has just inspired me to tell the world about them

Where you been the past year Kid A haha?

Got into Deerhunter in a big way the past 18 months or so.

Looking forward to seeing them at Laneway. A lot.

Bradford Cox is such a freaky looking mad dog. Love it
I'm not sure if he's a massive arseh*le or really engaging and enlightening.

Probably both. Or neither. I think that's why I like him.

Hipster Runoff make this really interesting interview pretty funny. Carles is always good for a laugh.

And someone on here said they wanted Walkabout (an Atlas Sound) song as their funeral track. I don't know if I'd go that far, but it's probably my favourite thing that BC's been involved in. I don't think I've heard a song so bipolar: the joys and hope of youth and the cynicism and realism of adulthood merged to create this farking... really good song.

I've seen some amazing interviews with him tbh. There are a bunch on Youtube. The one with John Norris is particularly enjoyable and he comes across very warm and passionate. Really is a lovely guy.

Yeh, that post sticks with me a bit as well. I love Logos and the tone is just so personally affecting.. Touching really. The Light That Failed, Walkabout, Quick Canal sit very comfortably as my favourites.

Basement Scene is my favourite Deerhunter song for similar reasons. The pining for lost youth, freedom, carelessness, traversing the world bright-eyed and full of wonder.. The key change is certainly very 'Bi-Polar.' The verses contain some of his best lyrics. Think Microcastle is probably my favourite LP tho.

Just comes across very whiny in this interview..
Hahah, yeah. Sometimes I think he's self-obsessed douchebag who complains all the time. But then I think he's kind of, I dunno, brave for being so earnest. It's nice to have so much honesty but his way of delivering it can be pretty lame.

That's what he came across as to me, I reckon he'd be a campaigner of a person to be around/work with. He reminds me of a less confident Billy Walsh (Entourage)

Although he writes amazing music so I don't care.

This is a better interview. I really rate John Norris as an interviewer; has some great interviews with bands like HEALTH, No Age, Japandroids etc.

I think Bradford Cox can pick journalists who are legitimately intrigued by his music and understand the creative process. The JJJ interviewer didn't seem to have much of an idea and peddled out some very obvious questions.

Not sure on a tour. Would be very keen to see them at their own gig.

Saw them at Laneway but wasn't as big a fan and left a short way in to see Foals. Probably should have stayed.

I don't know if they're doing anything at the moment. It's pretty odd, they played Billboards last time they came. Maybe that scared them off for good...

John Norris is pretty good, but I feel like he can be really sycophantic. And he really needs to dress and cut his hair like the 40-year he is...

I think he likes journalists who let him talk. He just likes talking.

This six part one with The Pains of Being Pure at Heart is really good. They're one of favourite bands. He really gets Kip to unearth a fair bit, he kind of rallies up some good answers.
