Am I missing something here?

The news was that TJ has a broken hand, hes going to play with it?

If what BeeDee says is correct, its good to see, Petterd deserves a run and I would like to see Garland given a go as well. Bate needs a run for Sandy IMO, get some confidence back.

Fergy is a monty to be dropped, Danners has no confidence whatsoever in him.

two key forwards down, two gun midfielders down, could you ask for a more perfect start to a season:confused:
Add to that Bartram, Sylvia and Pickett who would all be best 22 and you have a shocking start to the year.

Go Demons.

I'd be very suprised if Bizzell doesn't play. Especially if Rivers doesn't get up.

After todays closed session l can report that Pickett/Petterd and Dunn will play and by bye to Fergy/Moloney unable to train and Master Bate
My assertion that Bizzell will play is not just an educated guess. ;)

I'd have these changes

In: Rivers, Petterd, Garland

Out: Bate, Fergeson, Jamar

Jamar adds nothing to the team at the moment. Give Johnson a go and play him up forward if Garland doesn't work out.

Bate has had a terrible last two games. Give him a run at Sandy

Fergeson can't beat an opponent full stop

Tall Matchups:

Carroll - Tarrant (Since Tarrant will play deep and we need Bruce there will be no QB repeat)
Holland - Longmuir/Sandilands
Rivers - Pavlich

Up forward:

FF: Green Garland Davey (All 3 out of the goal square)
HF: Yze Miller Wheatley (Yze will play quite deep too. He doesn't have the pace to keep up in the middle anymore. Lets give Wheatley a try up forward. He adds little to defence. Miller can go back to more of a link man role with occasional ventures inside 50)

Moloney wont be playing MM, OP recurrence.

I think all 3 rucks will play, and I am hoping Danners throws the gauntlet down to PJ and sticks him on Pavlich, he is mobile enough to go with him.

pfft

beedee got these names out of greg denhams article in the australian/foxpsorts.com.au this morning...

garland is a fair way off being ready for AFL football, newton is ahead of him in terms of stepping up from sandy

petterd looks the goods, but i think ND would reward simon buckley for his hard work over the last 18 months before petterd

news on moloney is no good, i thought sylvia might be a chance this week, ND WILL put byron in, he has too, leave rivers out one more week, carroll/PJ/bizzell/holland can team up to take the freo forwards

If PJ plays on Pavlich then we will be down by 60 points at quarter time. I know PJ has potential blah blah blah. Rivers is our best defender. Play him on their best forward. 3 rucks is a waste. Bring in Buckley for Moloney. Why not? What other midfielders do we have down at Sandy?

There's no chance in hell they'll play PJ on Pavlich, heck theres not even much chance they'll let PJ even play full stop.

Play Miller on him, i know people say his a forward blah blah blah but if you cant kick straight you may as well be in the backline, not to mention the fact the guy can hardly kick it 50m

Just adding to it: Ins Petterd, Pickett, Newton and Dunn and outs: Moloney,Holland,Bate and Ferguson with Buckley on stand by for Johnstone whose hand is very sore and is in doubt. Struggled at the closed session at the G yesterday l heard from snowy on the trams

i actually quite like the look of that team, maybe Sylvia in as well if he it fit or whatever the hell is wrong with him.

Please...we've already lost 3, lets not make it 4.

MELBOURNEfc enforcer Byron Pickett has been selected to play his first game of 2007 when he lines-up against Fremantle at the MCG. Pickett has spent the past weeks gaining match fitness in the VFL but is now ready to be unleashed onto the ‘G’ this weekend.

Both sides will be looking to register their first win of the year.

Cameron Bruce will play his 150th AFL game and is looking to continue the good form that has seen him average 30 possessions in his last two outings.

Key defender Jared Rivers also returns to the squad after missing last week with hamstring soreness. He will be joined by Travis Johnstone who is expected to play despite some media speculation to the contrary.

2006 Draftee Ricky Petterd has been selected on the extended bench along with Lynden Dunn who has recovered from a broken cheekbone.

Ben Holland and Ryan Ferguson have both been omitted.

Well he got Holland and Ferguson right - but who wouldn't have after their performances last week? Apparently this 'oracle' confused Rivers with Newton
