Jesus! Settle down mate. King looks ok, but May is having a cracking season and is what we needed as a football club. May would be Top 2 or 3 in our B&F this year where King for you guys wouldn't even be top 10. This club hasn't had a full back like May in decades. We needed him or we'd still have Frost and OMac as our tall defenders.
My comment still stands. Both King boys look good. However Weid has come on nicely, just took a year longer than we'd hoped. 2020 May is exactly what this club has needed for a long time. We need outside class, not another full forward.

Well why would we get King when TMac was booked in with Weideman? We had no idea TMac was going to flop. May is a gun FB and definitely what we needed. Weideman is having a great year, we just need someone else next to him but that can be sorted in the interim. I am more concerned about our midfield.

you are correct
but rewind back to 2018 prelim final we were dominated particularly by tall forwards, it was a common theme in 2018. Hence the decision to off load hogan and bring in May.
we didn’t have time nor did we want to draft another developing key position player.
ultimately we passed on king for May for the here and now. Time will tell if it will work, he is playing food footy. But unless we see some success it will be a bust of a trade. But I like we tried.
also bringing Jackson in from the draft last year has helped us with another tall option forward of centre until he is big enough to compete longer in the ruck
Agree with this. We are the easiest team to bet against. So predictable. And Preuss was disastrous today. Just fed the Dogs the ball time and time again. Held his own last week, but we weren't expecting much. This week when the expectations slightly rise, he shows what a spud he is.
We are also the easiest team to play against if you have a half decent list. Win or even halve the stoppages and you have us beat if you have a couple of decent outside runners. The Dogs and the Saints were always going to trouble us with this exact same thing. Saints are probably even another step up in this style, which means we will no doubt get hammered on the outside next week with run and carry.
Good
Not much really.
May was good yet again.
Weid competed yet again.
Bad
Our game plan. So predictable. Falls apart when we don't win and break away from clearances. Every single time this club gives you just a shimmer of hope, they always, always let you down.
Small forwards. Been pretty good last few weeks, but terrible today. No pressure either which was so disappointing.
Ugly
Harmes. He's literally in this category every single week. Can he finally f##k off now?
Our kicking. Last week's unbelievable kicking performance was just that, unbelievable. The wind sorts out the decent kickers from the bad. And we were bad.
Oliver/Trac/Brayshaw. These two have bullied the sh## teams, but yet again went to water against a good team who put the pressure on. Pea hearted performance really from these three. They've had the praise last few weeks, now cop the criticism. You're a mediocre midfield. The good midfields take dumps on you every time.
Dumb dumb footballers. How many times did you just watch the game and go WTF are you doing? I can accept a couple per game, but we had dozens of just stupid WTF moments.
Coaching. The game was quickly getting away from us early in the third quarter, and Goodwin yet again sits on his hands and simply backs in his gameplan. The halftime lead cost us really. It was a mirage. As the first half really was poor. We had no right to be in front. As soon as the Dogs hit the front we should have gone defensive and tried to hold onto the ball against the wind. He just continually backs in a gameplan that doesn't work against decent teams. And it definitely doesn't work against well balanced inside/outside midfield teams like the Dogs and Saints. Get the lube ready, because Rattan and the Saints are coming in hard and fast.

Hard to blame the coach for a performance like that in the second half.
Comes down to attitude and desire. The dogs wanted it more than we did. Ran harder for longer.

I am perplexed at a couple of things from today . What was going on in the centre square ball ups ? Either Pruess hit it to no one , or straight to a bulldog ,and if he managed to avoid those 2 scenarios , at least twice Viney and Oliver crashed into each other going for the same ball .
Despite the dogs just waltzing it out of our back line from point kick ins it didn't dawn on any one to man up?
Our foot skills are meh under pressure , we hand ball to players that are under pressure ,
Why send Pruess to the goal Square if he is just going to spoil Weid down there .?

You came on to an opposition board to display how knowledgeable you were, yet all you did was show everyone how clueless you actually are.
if that doesn't qualify for the use of the term dickhead, I don't know what does.
Viney and Oliver should never be in the centre bounce together. That's on the coach. They literally get in each others way for most of the game. It doesn't work against the quality midfields.
