Not sure our backline is that elite judging by the last 6 weeks, lots more bad than good in that period

Scores against over last 6 games are 96, 59, 75 (54 first half) 80, 57 and today 64= 75 average, good enough for third best behind dogs and Brisbane... Funnily enough the teams they conceded highest score against?

Honestly, it's like everyone expects perfect football all the time. Today was a dogs breakfast in the first half from the midfield, which lead to the giants having 42 points at half time. From then on they scored 3.4..

Bizarre take to blame the defensive end, especially when all but 4 goals came from giants midfielders (3 to greene and one to Himmelberg)

Also the main reason the backline was so elite at the start of the season was because the midfield was incredibly well set up defensively, so it was easier for them to do their job. That was never a secret. Lever and May were still great today but if you’re surprised they’ve dropped off when the midfield has been getting smacked around the ball you have no clue. Not that they’ve been conceding huge scores.

I didn’t blame the defence for today’s defeat I said they weren’t elite.

The defensive effort by gws when tmac/Fritsch were lining up for a snap goal was impressive, they almost looked like 100m sprinters waiting for the gunshot

It was so bizarre from there. Bloke kicks as straight as * from a set shot. It wasn't much of an angle. Can understand some spud set shot like Daniher doing that, but Christ back yourself in.

Felt like we were out coached in this one. GWS kept a man behind the ball. Why we let them persist with that when we were the ones playing catch up, I have no idea. Bombing it long, Fritsch outnumbered and it came right back out.

Selfish football. Was s**t to watch.

Where was the effort we saw in the fourth in the first three quarters? Too many campaigners looking ahead and drinking their own bath water. They’ve look lackadaisical for weeks now. Just doing what they have to. Melbourne of old. It’s good to be back.

That was probably the worst we've played all year and we only lost by a kick and a half.
Why is Hunt copping so much s**t? He's not on "big dollars". campaigners like Tommy Mac, and Petracca are Mr and Mrs. "big dollars" and they're missing ******* sitters straight in front of goal. Every team has role players, of course ours look s**t when players like Oliver or Gawn are getting monstered.
Trash inside 50's didn't help but that clown-haired vego defo would; say what you like about him but he's a reliable kick at goal and if we had that today, we win.

Our midfield is absolutely shite at the moment. Clarry and Trac looked lazy out there today. Horrid kicking from both of them too. Viney had a nothing game and Harmes was awful in the first half but bounced back a bit in the second. An overall pathetic effort though.

Footskills were an abomination all game. Thank * for Salem and May because everyone else seemed to forget how to kick the ******* thing.

Haven't seen so many piss poor shots on goal in a single game for quite some time either. ANB, Trac, Fritta and TMac all absolutely ******* it.

Hunt...just no. An absolutely laughable last 10 minutes. Praise him for being in the position if you want but it doesn't mean s**t if he can't execute and the ******* potato almost never executes.

Gawn, May, Lever, Salem and Fritta...you guys get a pass mark. TMac maybe if he actually slotted a goal. To hell with the rest.

Yep. I'm putting a line through us after watching us live today. All the other teams vying for the 4 looking strong while our wheels are falling off. We look sluggish and lazy. Our manic pressure is gone and we literally cannot kick a decent score. Plus i think teams have worked us out tbh. Weird as we'll be top 2 still after this round, but it's going to take a monumental turnaround for us to win the flag this year tbh..

Richmond won a flag with literally just Jack Riewoldt you ******* donkey lol.

It's literally mind boggling that people think an out of form giant who literally may aswell lay on the ground if the ball isn't presented lace out is gonna fix the midfields inability to kick

Browns not a big body, you've literally never watched him play if you think that's the case. He can't beat someone one on one. All he does is straight line leads, he's the worst forward to bomb onto the head in the comp because he's piss weak in the contest.

I hope they bring him in now, he will kick 2-3 and we will kick the same s**t scores we have been except teams will waltz it out of our defence.
