Review Dees v the Carlton Cheats: the Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Howes lowkey having a really good start to the season - has looked like our most reliable defender.
Pls take a breath after this first bit, BUT.... He's reminding me a bit of a VERY VERY poor man's Scott Pendlebury so far this year. (Oh boy here we go)... What I would mean though, is that he has stopped panicking and he really takes his time and makes good decisions now. Unlike someone like Kolt who gets caught everyctime he stops to think, Howes has managed to find a way to take enough time but not get caught.

So you’re saying Howes has a basketball background?

I think Kolt is slowly getting better with his composure - just want us to leave him down back from now on, don't like the tagging role especially when Steele can at least go H2H with the opposition inside mid and try neuter them.
Castrate them all, I say!

“Congratulations Blake Howes on 500 games” has a nice ring to it.
As he puts on a bionic helmet for the umpteenth time.

As he receives his Norm Smith while captaining our 5th straight flag.
Time to dig up that thread where someone photoshopped premiership celebration photos of Watts, Trengove and Scully.

Meeting the number one metric for a reliable young non-rebounding, non-major intercepting defender - be noticed as little as possible

Seems a bit harsh re Clarry, even if Max did a huge amount for him personally, that wouldn't make it any easier if he has anxieties about being around the club or other people including administrators etc so soon after being forced out and to a different city when he was ostensibly desperate to stay. Not comparable at all to Howes who wanted out to somewhere he thought he had a better chance of a flag (which is fine) and playing as a forward (lol) and has had 11 years to establish himself as a star at the Pies and is 7 years older than Clarry.

Seems weird that we traded Howe out in the same preseason we drafted Oliver ie they never crossed over.

The Circus thing is weird admittedly but I doubt Max is taking it as personally as some on here.

Love that photo of all the old boys with Max and TMac

Langford turning on a dime and snapping that goal was so ****ing good.

Fumbles were diabolical early. Like last week. Few blokes need to do the Lachie Neale ritual of grabbing 100 balls cleanly.

Pretty good last goal for a guy set to be delisted

It was fumble++. We were lucky that Carlton didn't have a 12 goal lead in the 1st quarter.

It's unfair to ask Kolt to tag a player he's almost 10kg lighter than. We should let Steele go head to head with players like Cripps and let Koltyn tag players that rely more on their aerobic capacity like we saw with Nas and Serong.

I wouldn't mind seeing him have the job on Touk this week.
