Game Day Dees vs Crows

Mind you there were a few rushed points, and two shots shouldn't have been shots on goal, DMac getting scragged after the short pass to him, and then Gibbs clearly being held and completely being ignored by the umps. Justice was finally done.

Nope
Not all night Jen
But it is in the rooms where it hits players ....

Ten minutes and I didn’t see one person consoling him

Young player needed to hear it was all their fault not his
Except it is his fault. He knows he stuffed up at the death, no amount of back patting changes that.
He needs to own it and get through it, have his mini-grief reaction like we're programmed to do with any loss and then move on, hopefully to be stronger next time for his sake.

So you've moved on from Kyle Hartigan and Reilly O'Brien to Jake Kelly now?

Harmes incidentally looked to spend considerable time on ball to my eye?

I notice you cherry picked Jake's stats by the looks, for the record he also had 7 Rebound 50's, 1 less than Brodie Smith, 4 more than both Alex Keath and Daniel Talia, 2 more than Rory Laird and 6 more than Luke Brown. A team high 10 1 percenters to go with his 5 score involvements.

Jake Kelly was a long way from our worst player last night and is having his best season since he's been on our list, he might not be in our best 22 when Doedee comes back and if some of our youngsters come on quicker than expected but currently he's safely inside our best 22 for the role he's playing.
That may all be true, but I still have my heart in my mouth when Jake has the ball in hand.

I agree with that - Gawn probably was the most influential player on the ground, along with Crouch, Lynch and Oliver as the clear top 4 anyway. Nothing to do with what I posted, but cheers.

I was responding to the poster who claimed that O’Brien was not getting any hitouts and that our mids should just ignore ROB and rove to Gawn because “Gawn is going to win all the taps”. O’Brien ended up with more hitouts than Gawn, hence the light-hearted dig.

1.8

No
It’s not his fault alone

First quarter a half yes, he has dropped off since.

The funny thing is, the player ratings gave him two negative quarters to half time- the second being about as big a negative as you'll ever see.

Now ratings are a clumsy tool, and they don't always get it right, but in this case they met exactly what the eye test would tell you.

So what's happening? Are you not calling things as you see them because you're committed to a 'side', or are you maybe not a great judge?

He took 7 marks, kicked 2.2 from 16 possessions.

He took contested marks and was involved heavily in our final quarter comeback.

2nd quarter, like most of the team was very ordinary.

In answer to your question, I've not committed to a side no, nor am I a poor judge..... but thanks for your concern.

He didnt take contested marks, he took a contested mark- singular. He took one mark inside the 50. This is what I mean- we can credit him what he did in the last without embellishing the entire performance.

I wasn't doing that, he had a good game and a game you'd expect him to play.

As a sidebar to that though, how could he possibly be ranked below Tex ?? No tall forward was overly dangerous all night but Taylor only turned up halfway through the 3rd.

Walker did not result in substantial net negatives during the first and second quarter, and was a significant part of the reason we got back in the game.

Significant ?? C'mon not even you believe that. He was barely sighted for a half, got laced out by Gallucci in the 3rd and had minimal impact on the game.

Southern is right on this one. I just watched the second half and he was involved in a significant number of scoring chains.

He was our 2nd best KPF on the night.

Plain and simple.

HS has turned into the Captains No1 troller. Shame, always thought he/she was a decent poster, but no objectivity at all with Tex.

Lynch was huge, but I'd hardly call him a KPF.

Bit of a travesty he didn't get the maximum coaches votes.
