It was very much luck. We just usually don't have much of it - a win like this is a rarity.

As good as it was to turn it around, Melbourne kicked 1.8 in the last. That was an epic choke... but it's great to win a close one for once.

We have seen so many chokes from the Dee's, I was hoping we could do it too.

Least of our issues though. If you're 4th tall defender is your problem you're in a good place

Those types of positions are the avenues you bring young talent into the team though.

We seal them off with passable role players.

Atkins had two chances to mark and ice the game. Heard footsteps twice and dropped it twice.

No complaints about him. Good honest footballer. I have about 3 ahead of him i would drop. Murphy (4 disposals for the night and a bad month prior), galluci was better tonight ,(but still have atkins ahead of him) and jones isnt ready. galluci with 13 and murphy with 4 disposals while atkins had 27. So almost double the disposals from 1 player compared to murphy and galluci combined.

Jenkins and gibbs need some security and given a 4 week block guarenteed, for their own confidence and self belief, because like it or not, we are a better side with them in the side than without them. Without them we lose imho.

Gallucci has improved every week and was excellent tonight , his ball use into the forward 50 is elite .
He was also very good for the most part last season , he will be a player .

I disagree. I certainly wouldn't be dropping him when he has 27, and Murphy had 4, and has done nothing for a long period of time. If it came down to the 2 of them being dropped (and who for?) it would 100% be Murphy imo.

It's not about how much of the ball Atkins gets, it's the errors he's been making.

It is not just about disposals , 7 clangers by Atkins . He also is an outside player and had 23 uncontested .
I am not saying to drop him necessarily but you can't just count possessions as a measure . Everyone has a different role ,
Gallucci kicked 1 and 3 direct goal assists from 6 inside 50's which was our clear best and = game high .
Atkins had no 1%ers at all , he was caught cold twice trying a weak fend off plus he squibbed 3 or 4 contests when it counted .
