I think the main difference is poise & quality disposal. Our work ethic & efforts in the contest have been good, we have got a bad run from the umps too but on the whole they have been awful throughout the NAB cup.

Watts has been better tonight. Has kicked a good goal and been more involved.

Trengove has been quiet but it's to be expected for his first game of the season.

Agreed. We fumble the ball too much and we are still ironing out some of the bad habits we formed from the Bailey regime. When it works it looks good. When it doesn't we look bad at the moment. Neeld wasn't happy at half time though which was great to see, he won't take this shit lightly.

Side note - we have been smashed by the umps tonight. It has nothing to do with the result as Hawthorn have been far too good but they have been nothing short of awful.

I'd almost say that every player on the hawks side has better ball skills then us. Dave's & Watts do but they don't get the ball enough. Watts has been better tonight though.

Firstly it's Clark.
Secondly, like what? He has had stuff all opportunity and kicked 2.3. He's the only one doing anything up in our fwd 50, im happy for him to be selfish when everyone else is doing nothing.

We have alot of players who have been down tonight who we would expect better from or who have just had bad nights.

Moloney and Jones haven't done much and Trengove is still working out the rust. Magner got injured, Bate couldn't handle the ball and Nicholson has been pretty terrible. Couch has only played the second half too. And McKenzie has barely played. That's most of our midfield and we have been smashed in there today.

Not to mention the fact that Davey has done nothing up forward either.

Only real positive tonight has been our endeavour (we have had a crack, we may not have used the ball well but we have had a crack) and Clark up forward.

But it's only NAB Cup. Just like last week was promising this week shows us that the game plan is still a work in progress and we will take some time to click.

I think Neeld will be more worried about many other things from tonight than a shot at goal from the pocket. Thankfully.

Using the footy and holding onto it is another issue it seems. It sounds like once they get the footy we aren't even in the hunt.
