I challenge anyone to defend the first half tonight.
The lack of effort (bar one or two players) and skill in the first half tonight is not acceptabe. The amount of weak turnovers was unbelievable.

There was no lack of effort, just a lack of skills.

Just goes to show that when our silk is removed from our midfield (Barlow and Mundy) that we are a VERY ordinary side. Jst an AWFUL< AWFUL<AWFUL effort.

If we lose this game we drop out of the 8 and will probably lose again next week when we should win. The line is the sand is right here. If we dont want to win bad enough we dont deserve to win. Our season hinges on this second half.

Like **** i'm not at the game unfortunately so i cant say with too much conviction but ffs you've got 2 lions players head clashing to get the ball and on at least 2 occasions there was 4 Freo players around the ball, none contest and a lions player takes possession. Doesn't look like anything has ****** changed, still soft as shit

Please excuse my intruison, but the game seemed to change when Broughton went in the middle. Is there any reason why Harvey keeps giving him a lock-down role on small forwards?

we won, and again we lose two of our better players for an extended period of time, heard on SEN mcpharlin for 4, and sandilands may be out for the season..... we may as well shut up shop and go for it next year

second half was much better, harves obviously gave them a rocket, i really think though that we need to invest in a goal kicking coach. get matty lloyd or someone of that ilk, because one day, when it matters (final of some description), we are going to be hurt by this. mayne really needs to have a look at his routine, because as good as he is in the chasing and harrassing, he undoes a lot of his work with his demoralising efforts at the sticks, he isnt the only one, but he seems to be the worst offender

WOW look what happens when you put a bit of effort in, the skills pick up and you win the game. Except the set shot skill
No. Look what happens when the confidence picks up. Skills were still not great, and Brisbane ran out of legs. The effort was there all along.

I thought a few of our fringe players went pretty well in the second half myself.
Clancee was good, Mellington went in very hard, even Hinckley had his moments, and Zac seemed to go better.
With competition for spots happening now, with Mzungu, Barlow, Grover and Ballantyne coming back next week hopefully.
Also, I thought Palmer tried his guts out tonight. Roger the genius and Silvagni were very, very good as well. As was Johnson!
I was one of the 30,000 true believers there at Subi!

add griffin to that. if these guys weren't coming back next week, i'd be a whole less confident.

BullS**t , Why was the confidence not there from the start.
1 Quarter of footy did it.

We did. And we won. With a great last quarter defensive effort that didn't even let them score.

So, "EJ" (Eagles Jerkoff) - what do you have to say, champ??

Well buddy with your Eagle Jerkoff comment you are well off the mark.
Mate I am an original Docker member. My EJ comes from my kids first initials of their names and their age at the time of joining.
I still challenge anyone to defend the first half. Which is when I posted the thread.

I have been optimistic about his season up to now and haven't been too critical . But seriously tonight, that was a load of shit. Two bottom sides in reality. The skill level was appalling.

With teams like Geelong , they concentrate of on doing every disposal with as much precision as possible- even a two metre handball is executed with care. We just throw it out in the general direction - at players feet , their heads ,behind them - is there any wonder we make it look so hard.

Seriously now that Mcpharlin and Sandi are ****ed we are probably screwed for the season. I really hope not.

If we are to find a away I would hope a few things might dawn on Harvey.

1. WTF is this bullshit with Clarke in the midfield????? He's a 2 metre whatever lampost ruckman . When he went there tonight he was so much better.
2. Keep Palmer in the team and in the middle and Pav away from packs. Look how good Pav was when he had a bit of space. Play him on ball sparingly and put some trust in the players who are in our squad supposedly to do that job. I don't give a shit anymore how far palmer might be up his own arse or whether he gonna play like a spud- But at least roll the freakin dice - we are running out of time!

I don't care that we won tonight . If we keep playing like that we are only heading in one direction

It felt a lot like a flashback to the days of Drummy, where other struggling teams would come over, we'd play like shit, yet sneak home with a win in the end (except 2001) because so many clubs couldn't play in Perth.

With Pavlich being so dominant again, it's hard to see the direction that the club is heading in.

I didn't say a thing about the game.

You read my post as disagreeing with yours??

To humour your topic.. It wasn't pretty but then it wasn't exactly rubbish either. H, it entertained me, was a good tussle.

Sorry I guess cause it was the one after mine I put 2 and 2 together and got 5. I am just feeling disappointed cause I thought with players coming back we could turn things around . To me it didn't look good tonight and now with Mcpharlin and Sandi out . For the first time I feel its slipping away for this year. I didn't enjoy the game unfortunately except the fact that we won.
