Deledio Vs Griffen

Jesus Christ.

Enright is far better than Deledio. It's an insult to Enright to say Deledio is better than him.
Evidently Deledio's general lack of impact in most areas of the ground is preferable to Enright's enormous impact in one area.

So you are legitimately trying to say say that Deledio is better than Enright? Why not just use Ablett and be done with it as he didn't have 7 AA's at Deledio's age despite playing for Geelong.
Deledio is a better player. He's been tagged 200 times, Enright never.

Enright is ten times the player Deledio is, was and ever will be.

Thanks for proving my point.

So Lewis Jetta is better than Dane Swan? I mean, Jetta gets tagged more..

Enright is the best performed half back of the decade, Deledio wouldn't be in the top 50 midfielders of the decade.

Playing HBF for Geelong these past eight years has been so easy, it's made Andrew Mackie look like a star.

The best HBF in the league is Brett Deledio, whenever he plays there. He still gets tagged when he does, by the way. Nobody tags Enright. Ever.
Has it occurred to you at any stage that the individual players at Geelong are actually responsible for the success they enjoyed?

It wasn't as though the footy gods put a spell over Kardinia Park between 2007 and 2011 and anyone donning the blue and white hoops benefited as a result. Players like Enright and Mackie, however you view them, were crucial to their dominance in all areas of the ground.

Deledio would obviously be held in higher esteem if he'd played in three premierships, but he'd still be the same player - on the face of it, he's versatile and does a few pretty things, but his impact on the game is minimal. He did get plenty of the ball for a couple of years, but the result was little more than death by a thousand tiny cuts.

Maybe Enright is part of the reason Geelong was such a dominant force... He stopped the best small forward of every team. But I'm sure Deledio could do that.

Deledio better than Enright?

That's almost wouldn't trade Super Gav for Pendlebury level

why would collingwood fans trade penddle for gblett? have you inquired into a job as a list manager?

Enright won Geelong's B&F in 2009 and 2011, premiership years. He did this against the likes of Ablett, Bartel, Scarlett, Johnson, Chapman, Ling, Corey... but apparently he's a shit knacker and Deledio would have done a better job.

and deledio was losing b&fs to the like of Jackson...

its like a glorified teachers pet award

Don't feed the trolls anymore guys. No point when they won't listen to logic.

yes continue discussing with the non-trolls how deledio is ten times inferior than enright.

I get the feeling something is brewing between you Doggies and GWS supporters. More than just the Deledio vs Griffen(or Enright) debate.

Do we have another Coll v Carl rivalry on our hands? I think so.

TBH i feel both of you have valid arguments. PLayers like Enright and Corey were criminally underrated outside of Geelong but I have no doubt that Deledio is a more talented footballer than Enright and would have excelled if he played in Geelong those years. Not saying that Enright wasn't a great player, but he was surrounded by such quality players that his role was made easier.

He's not a flog, you just don't like his opinions. The fact you resort to abuse indicates he is arguing his opinions better than you are yours.
Actually, the fact is that his arguments are completely idiotic. Deledio better than Enright? That is laughable. The way he's going on, you'd think Deledio is the best player to ever play the game and can do absolutely everything, would kick 100 goals if given the FF spot, would win the Brownlow in a canter if he wanted to.

It's not at all laughable. That you think it is shows how ill-equipped you are to engage in this debate.

Enright averages 21 disposals across his career, the majority of which has been in one of the great teams in history. Yes, he is part of the reason they've been so great, but so have Ablett, Selwood, Bartel, Johnson, Scarlett, Corey, Taylor, Kelly, Hawkins, Ottens, Ling... Do you see where I'm going?

Enright and Geelong have had the luxury of playing him at half-back his entire career. He's played in a dominant team that has owned the ball and flipped it around, so you can't argue his teammates have denied him possessions - they've created them for him.

Deledio has spent his career in mostly poor Richmond sides, has copped a hard tag every week since he was 19 and averages 23 disposals. Historically, his teammates have been more likely to turn it over than create a possession for him.

Swap Deledio and Enright 10 years ago, let Lids play HBF for Geelong and put Enright in Richmond's midfield, and there wouldn't be one person claiming Enright as the better player.

The way he's going on, you'd think Deledio is the best player to ever play the game and can do absolutely everything, would kick 100 goals if given the FF spot, would win the Brownlow in a canter if he wanted to.
You're exaggerating. Watch the second half of Richmond's 2014 though, and you'll see Lids playing as a pseudo CHF, averaging 27 touches and two goals per game. No way Enright could do that.

Just like Deledio couldn't go to Rioli, Ballantyne, Milne, Johnson, Betts and co, keep them almost completely out of the game while getting 20 touches.

If you asked any neutral supporter I'm sure 80%+ would take Enright in their team.

Yes, he could. He kept Mundy to 14 touches while having Crowley hanging off him, and had 20+ himself.

If you asked any neutral supporter I'm sure 80%+ would take Enright in their team.
80% of people are of average or below average intelligence. 80% of people go with conventional wisdom because they are unable to think for themselves.

Notwithstanding, I would be amazed if anywhere near that number would choose Enright. I guarantee AFL list managers wouldn't.

Hmmm, the best small-medium defender of the decade, five time AA, three time premiership player, two time best and fairest winner (in premiership years, an honor some consider the highest in the game)..

Or a one time AA, two time best and fairest (in a team that didn't make finals).

I'm almost certain most list managers would take Enright.
