Just watched the dogs replay and he was our best player. I was there on the day and had him in our best 3 but sometimes from up high you miss the little things. He got a lot of the hard ball he is criticised for not getting, laid some great tackles, took a couple of fantastic marks, kicked 2 goals and used the ball extremely well. Saw he got the coaches' votes on Footy Classified too. If he works as hard every week as he did against the dogs he will be up there with the comp's best (I refuse to use the word 'elite'!) very soon. The guy is the complete package. A leader too I reckon.:thumbsu:

Cops a bit of flack at times because many expected him to be Brownlow material by now but thats pretty unfair.
What I like is that he barely ever wastes a possession.
Unlike some others, if Lids has the ball in his hands I sit a little easier because he will use it so well.
(Loved that very strong contested mark in the goal square in the first qtr was it?)
 
I know we still drew it in the end, but wasn't Lids the one at the end who get last center clearance up to Browny? Doggies had got like the last 4 clearances until then. Before of course Lids stepped up and took it away.

No. Pattison got a free and handballed it off the deck to Schulz, who kicked to Brown.
 
Proved that he is much better then Griffen, not that I ever doubted that, but some people reckon he has been outperformed by Griffen so far.
 
deledio has started to hit great form, the way he plays on sunday will be very interesting... who do people think will go to him? hodge? sewell? mitchell? i think sewell will go to him to try and stop him making any influence on the game and hodge to foley, but i dont think anyone will be able to stop deledio if he is good form, we need deledio and foley to link up more with some quality inter-play!

We're easy targets for the muppets out there who only watch their team and just assume stuff about us.
Don't pay any attention to those knobs. we know what we've got. More than happy with Lids' progress.

I think Sewell be more concerned with Foley and will get the match up. After that we dont really set any heavey tags on guys in the centre square.

Thing with Lids is he makes it look easy, and I reckon this makes him an easy target when he doesn't get rip apart every game he plays in. He makes AFL footy look like under 10's at times. If he isn't burning Chris Judd or kicking 4 goals or delivering laser like passes all over the ground he immediately comes under fire. Fact is he rarely gets under 20 possies and they are inevitably all quality ones. Though I get the feeling we are only scratching the surface in terms of what he is capable of ;)

The last line is spot on, which is a very exciting prospect given the quality he is currently producing.
 
He just needs to learn to break a tag.
And not play in the fwd line. You see he does egt lets say 20 meaningful possesions, but he just isnt hyped up in the media as Judd is. YEs judd deserves every bit of it, but IF deledio constantly plays AN AMAZING 3 brownlow votes games every few weeks his profile would rise.

was deledio best on ground i havent looked at any reports? i watched the game thought he played very well did he get top votes from both coaches, i stopped watching FC before the coaches votes were read out....

The night after i first saw him playu i rang SEN and informed them he will one day Captian our great and mighty club... I was laughed at ... Whos laughing now!!!!

Lids you are a friggin genius.....

Ps. I do have some questions over his wardrobe though... When he was at the port-coburg game wearing a very red plaid shirt...mmmmmmm:D
