I do feel sorry for Murphy. Today was a sign he tried too hard for very little result. He’s thinking about his spot on the team, rather than just playing the ball.

A perfect example was when he flew high over an opponent only to miss the ball, and it flew over his head. If he was focusing on the ball, he should have ran backwards, not forwards

Yeah you can tell he knows it's coming to an end and he's trying too hard but just doesn't have the skills. I am beyond frustrated that he's been picked over so many more deserving, but that's not his fault, it's the selectors.

Taking out Lever was the only good thing he did all day. We genuinely would have been better off just leaving Rachele lying flat on his back in the goal square in the second half.

He is just a bloke that tries really really really hard.

He has never had, nor will ever have the talent required to be a decent AFL footballer.

He just lucked into a list spot with a really shitty for the past 6 years that allowed him to Bradbury 100AFL games.

As far as AFL footballers go - he is just plain terrible.

I stand by the fact this is all on Nicks and why we have no faith in him to ultimately deliver. He’s hardly tested our squad all year and has given over 100 games to a guy whose was clearly not up to it after 20 games max . Nicks judgement is woeful

Nicks loves him because he is a 'great guy' and tries really hard. Because Murphy is getting smashed on social media whenever he is selected would just be adding to Nicks desire to pick him.

The fact that he has had multiple chances this year and played so poorly, while guys like Dowling, Edwards, Jones, Bond and Cook haven't even had one chance is mind boggling.
