Has anyone noticed that in press conferences Nicks gets borderline offended when reporters ask about individuals? Someone mentioned Worrell being in AA form last week and he shut it down like "we don't talk about individuals!"

Yet somehow he always finds a way to sneak Murphy and Smith unprompted into conversations about who is playing well.

He constantly talks about individuals, but only those who are his favorites. He shuts down any talk of younger players performing well, either in the side or at lower levels

Yep definitely. He has constantly downplayed the form of young guys in the SANFL in the past when asked about it, but will then talk up how good Smith and Murphy were in the two’s. Drives me nuts.

Nicks loves him because he is a 'great guy' and tries really hard. Because Murphy is getting smashed on social media whenever he is selected would just be adding to Nicks desire to pick him.

The fact that he has had multiple chances this year and played so poorly, while guys like Dowling, Edwards, Jones, Bond and Cook haven't even had one chance is mind boggling.
That’s going to be our downfall, our depth is dogshit when you limit it to the likes of smith and Murphy.

Only a couple more injuries from here and we’re cooked.

We have depth, he's just not picking them.
Cook, Jones, Edwards, Draper, Murray, Pedler have all been playing well in the seconds and are worthy of a call up.
Murphy for some reason is the number next in line regardless.

If you have depth but don’t play them do you really have any depth at all?

Hard to really assess what our depth looks like when you have players who have been on our list for 2 years (Ryan and Edwards) and who have never played a game.

Yep that’s the point.

They’ve shirked the issue at every point so far. It’s gonna come back to bite

Well take the positive 🤔🤔🤔🤔 - father/son.

Hopefully Murphy’s missus has an ounce of talent so their kid might be alright.
Think I'll pass.

Can anyone actually remember the last time Murphy kicked a goal? I'm struggling to. That's his job isn't it.... small forward?

I wouldn't delist him, he's good enough to be on a list, but he's not good enough to be in an AFL team that's competing for finals. He kind of crashed in a couple times and hurt himself against Melbourne, it shows he's desperate to be at that level, unfortunately he's just not good enough to execute what his ability and size allows at that level, so he ends up making mistakes and bad decisions. I can see how at a lower level he would be very affective, but AFL is just too much of a gap for him.

That said, I'll never accuse him of not having a crack, which I can't say about some players in the team.

I just want to see Vardy Magic do a highlights package of him this week and have the sound affect of a Kamakazi pilot yelling "Banzai" each time he launched himself in the air
School yard "Capper" cries maybe, and commentating the play referring to himself in the the 3rd person

Why is he flying for marks tho? His job is to be a crumbing forward, thats the job of the small blokes in the forward line.
Probably because of our extremely short forwardline

I was surprised looking over his career stats he actually wasn't too bad the first two years. His output dramatically dropped off after that. He's not worth keeping on the list, and I wish him nothing but happiness.

Absolutely shits me, would it hurt to pump up a bloke who’s had a good game very now and again?

He's a forward, but his career average sits at 0.6 goals per game. His average disposals sits at 11.6 per game (I'd love to see his average career disposals in final quarters). Pretty crap numbers for a senior player.

I think our impression of him is also coloured by his debut after our grand final loss, and we haven't played finals since. His entire career has seen nothing but mediocrity, failure and humiliation for the club. We associate him running out there with the shitty times in which he puts in shitty performances.

He also kicked 31 of his 74 career goals in his first two seasons.

Think it is appropriate we leave him on his current number of games played - 119 and thats it.
