So, we chased Harry Taylor, there was an article in the West about us getting Michael Johnson and now we're allegedly interested in Rance.

I predict Glass has signalled his intention to retire while Brown will probably leave.

I would happily do Brown for Rance but Richmond would want a fair bit more.
Maybe a threesome with the Saints? They apparently valued Brown pretty high last year if the rumours of a first-rounder were true. All could come out pretty satisfied?

GWS have Patton and Cameron, GC have Charlie Dixon and Sam Day

Their tall forward stocks are already pretty good.
Patton keeps getting injured but will be good long term if he can recover properly. Cameron is good but cant do it all by himself.

Charlie Dixon and Sam Day are very hit and miss and are also long term prospects. If those two clubs can pick up a mature KP prospect while thier youth develops you can bet your a$$ they will go for it. :)

Saints first rounder would be pick 3 or 4. I don't think they're going to give up that for Brown. :p

Pick 22 (guesstimate) they might give up and personally I wouldn't mind taking that instead of Rance. Get best available in the draft (I think Garlett could be around at this point), start grooming McInnes for a Backrole and maybe rookie a young KPD.

Would give us picks around 10ish, low 20s and high 20s. Excellent ground work for some much needed list turnover.

Hmmm, I do like the sounds of that, especially in this upcoming draft. Pick 10 for Sheed, low 20s for Garlett and high 20s for the best available KPD... would love for this outcome, but of course it would be in an ideal world :rainbow:

I've read good things about Hourigan in that range but he is probably too small.
Still I think we'd be better off picking up a lesser KPD (or mature) in the later rounds or rookie draft.

In the late 20's we could still pick up a decent midfielder, maybe cripps?

If we traded ash smith, what would be the maximum that he would be worth?Pick 40ish?I would like to see the eagles get an extra pick or 2 in the 2nd or 3rd round as it seems to be a deep draft.
Would there be anyone else worth trading.I think brown will want to head home at the this season so what would we get for him?I think with our likely retirements and these 2 going and probably delisting hams and maybe 1 other it would be good to get a few more new faces than we normally do at draft time.
Also on another note has brad dick shown enough so far to suggest he can make it back to the AFL?I was excited when we got him and if fit and firing think he would be just what we need up forward but will he make it back?

I dunno, I'm not sure I agree with everyone that "Garlett is exactly what we need", no doubt we need a player like him but he wouldn't solve all our problems. I'm wondering if he could slide to our 2nd pick and we then can pick up a big bodied midfielder with our first pick, someone like Botempelli could be available at our first pick and he has a lot of upside.
Not sure there are many realistic targets that would solve all our problems. But Garlett is an elite talent and footskills and line-breaking ability are areas of relative weakness for our midfield. I could also see him playing most games next year and making an impact. I'd prefer him over Sheed at this point in time.
