Would rather Cripps than Acres if we can't get Sheed. Judging from today's performance, Acres would be a chance to slip a fair way down IMO.

Also, we can't be too WA conscious, some great guys running around from SA and the Vic teams that are very good options for us (i.e. Dunstan, Billings, Crouch, even Schorenberg).
Dunston was much better this week.

Crouch I don't really care for. People call Sheed vanilla...

agree, i know it was only 1 game but acres didnt fire a shot, plenty of guys were better than him today
I wouldn't read much into it.

Acres is a classy ball magnet, he's playing on the flank because of his shoulder.

If Sheed, Robertson and Acres played all the games I think WA would have given the title a real go.

Watching U/18's and while Patrick Cripps has been good, Dunstan has been exceptional. WA have really missed Sheed as well.
In one top 10 draft order they have Sheed going at 8, that's not far from our likely pick at all, also has Marsh going 10> 20.

We should be chasing GWS's pick 11 we don't have the coin for pick 1.

Mitch Brown + our second rounder (pick 27??) for 11?

Draft Sheed at 9 and Marsh at 11.

Any one playing freo
If we don't get Sheed, I think the next best mid talent will be interstate.

Don't think Acres is top 10, more like 15 to the 30 range.

I like the look of Honeychurch from Vic metro.
Nice player but he's a dwarf. With our current squad, and with Waterman and Matera likely joining us in the next few years (who are both on the smallish side) ~ we should be targeting midfielders in the 185-190cm range.

I was just listing a type, one of the knocks on Crouch is his disposal isn't it?

Anyway, at the moment I'm most keen on Sheed, Dunston and Billings from that group in the Top 10. Would really like to see Marsh spend some time on-ball in the future.

Even though I've just rubbished Acres performance today it doesn't mean I don't rate him, it just means I think he's a better chance to go later and thus someone we can leave in our discussions until the second round.

Ryan Lim's tracking nicely for 2014 though, someone we should definitely keep an eye on. Decent size, great aggression, just needs to work on his finishing skills with ball in hand.

Totally agree with EH. Acres was playing with a shoulder that had popped out only 5 days ago and you could see he was doing his best to push through and play as I believe WA was down on players due to injuries from the Geelong game. It's a credit to him that he even ran out on the field. Like EH said if we had our 3 best mid's playing (all healthy) in all the games the end result may have been different, but thats football, you have to play with what you got available. Cripps stepped up and played a captain's game.

I don't think Sheed shoulder will cause him to slide in the draft and he will go top 5. Like i have posted before Acres will be a pick that a club will have to decide if they are going to risk him still being available at their 2 pick. IMO he will go around the end of the first round and if not then high in the 2 round (unless WCE slide down the ladder he may end up with them in the 1 round as they seem to like local players). Robertson is a bit harder to gauge as he has not played much this year but IMO I think he go high in the 2 round.

If we can get Sheed if not Acres would be the best bet for a first rounder and then we get Garlett with our 2nd rounder. With our later picks maybe we get a proper small forward and maybe a defender.
don't think we should put all our basket in the wa basket.

I like sheed, he has a good inside/outside game and would be an excellent addition. If he is available I think west coast would take him.

Man I really like Botempelli, he has really nice hands, can damage by foot and is a very nice size who is pretty quick and athletic. A lot of potential :thumbsu: If we could somehow get GWS's pick 11 I would be happy get him for that.

Hartung? Got pretty good speed and takes the game on. Dunno how he will translate to AFL level but he was pretty impressive in both televised matches.
Just seemed to have a lot of time. I guess that's the sort of thing that gets evened out once they make the step up though.

We won't get pick 11 for Brown but Bontempelli will still be in the mix for our first round pick. He should do well at draft camp and he could probably take over Gaff's old position on the wing from day one.

Says we are interested in Pears and Delaney from North.

Watters said on 6pr they are still keen on Brown.

What do people think of Luke Delaney? If we off load Brown would he a be a handy pick up cheap?

Pears i like but we would be in the same position as before if Glass stays on and he might be come a backup if we play Schoey back. Plus i think he would cost a fair bit more than someone like Delaney.

taylor from Vic country would be a good get- hard tough ball magnet midfielder and his a natural leader
Not with our first round pick. I also think the comparisons to Devon Smith, Prestia and Hrovat are unfounded, as they rely a lot less on leg speed and have additional size.

He better be a decent small forward.
