Who want's LeCras in the middle? I sure as well don't.
Id like to have LeCras sitting close to goal in the hope he kicks 4 every game but its a waste of his talent. He will get you 18-20 disposals in the middle only but all quality which we dont have those types in the middle. A bit like Cyril Rioli, Id take 15 of Cyrils disposals over say 25 of Lewis or the like

Slow, weak over the ball, average field kick. Hands historically have been good but they've poor this year.
medium pace, weak to moderate over ball, accurate field kick. Down on form and confidence but seems to be turning the corner now, coming back from 2 injuries don't forget. He is probably our most selfish player which frustrates but should be in our top 5 selfish players for his skillset. My problem is he doesn't chase hard enough, shepherd, help out teammates enough. We turned Josh Hill around on this hopefully Lecca takes a leaf from his book

# Waiting to read the next 10 pages of leccra to midfield
So back onto drafting, what are we going to do with the Gov? Correct me if I'm wrong, but his 3 years on the rookie list are over at the end of the year.. worth upgrading, or are the injuries to much to risk? Re-rookie? Seems pretty solid, but not sure if AFL standard. Would love to be proven wrong!

You're not wrong. I think it depends on how much list space we clear out and if we also want to upgrade Sinclair and/or Bennell.

We may well send him back to the draft and re-rookie him if no-one picks him up, which is probably fairly safe given the year he's had.

Doesn't kick enough goals to press for a game but I'm only going off stats anyone seen him play?

McGovern's injuries put him in a position where it is very easy for us to re-rookie him.

Freo are the only concern I have with that plan though, they know as well as us how he was developing.

Sinclair can spend another year on the Rookie List IMO, he is only there as depth in case all three of NN, Cox and Lycett are unavailable/out-of-form and isn't as effective as Gov/McInnes up forward or as strong as Lycett in the rucking department. I can't see Lycett going backwards after another pre-season; he is coming along very nicely.

We would be crazy in risking losing McGovern to the draft, its a midfielders draft light on KP talent. McGovern has links to Freo and what are Freo looking for? KP forwards.

Players that will likely be leaving the senior list:

  1. Nicoski
  2. B Dick
  3. A Selwood
  4. A Embely
  5. A Hams
  6. C Morton
  7. Glass
  8. Kerr
Players that may ask for a trade:

  1. M Brown
  2. A Smith
Not all of these players will go, maybe six. Three draft picks, one trade and two rookie upgrades.

Upgrade McGovern and Bennell / Sinclair.:thumbsu:

Players that will likely be leaving the senior list:
1. Agree with Nico, sadly I don't think the club will offer another playing contract.
2. I think the list managers will sit down and decide which of Dick or Hams offers the most going forward. My gut says Hams stays due to not being injured.
3. Selwood, Embley, Glass, Cox, Kerr will be offered contracts until they decide to leave on their own terms, albeit 1 year ones. The club doesn't ditch veterans since the Woosha incident. I'd be surprised if any retire bar Selwood, as they seem to be rather upbeat in all press dealings.
4. Cale Morton will be on the list next year, I believe he's still under contract.
5. Brown is looking for AFL game time, he's happy here. He's getting a fair bit this season, which should quell his ambitions to leave for 'greener' pastures. I'd imagine if the club suggested they would trade him he'd take the chance as long as there was game time at the other end.
6. I think Smith gets traded back to Melbourne, where he can hang out in Brunswick with his mate Koby and work on their fashion label. For a pick upgrade.

My guesses:
- Nico retired, unfortunate but can't be avoided.
- Hams delisted. Dick gets one more year.
- Embley and Selwood politely told it would be best if they retired on their own terms amidst great fanfare, with an Ash Hansen-esque delisting if they don't.
- Smith traded.
- Brown hopefully stays on. If he walks, then trade in another key back as cover (Hooker probably unavailable now. Angus Litherland from Hawthorn? Delaney from North?)
- Promote McGovern and Sinclair, give Bennell and Tunbridge another year on the rookie list.

Out: Nicoski, Hams, Embley, Selwood, Smith (poss. Brown)
In: McGovern, Sinclair, 3 draftees, 2 rookie draftees, (Brown replacement)

Why promote Sinclair, lets just keep him there.

Agree we don't need to upgrade Sinclair, he is a backup if NickNat or Cox gets injured and next year Lycett will be another year developed. We really have no requirement to upgrade him unless we get injuries to two ruckmen.

Sure if we lose both NN and Cox to short term injuries say like hamstrings we would be exposed with playing Lycett + ???

Unfortunately for most of any season a club has one tong term injury in any case.
