Depends on the rest of the year.

Pick #26 would probably have to be packaged with something else.

I would suggest Brown + something would be on the mark. Brown + second would be overs, Brown plus swap of seconds Carlton supporters would likely feel ripped off.

A trade like that would be another win win Eagles / Carlton trade IMO.

Why would Carlton want Brown?

Whilst I agree that we need some better extraction I think we have some players in the team who can do this, an obvious flaw this season has been our delivery into the 50. We need more midfielders who can damage the opposition. As it is I don't think Masten (good link up player) is that damaging, nor scooter and there is a reason Priddis doesn't get tagged. No point of having excellent extractors if our delivery into the 50 is just going to hit the opposition. We have been killed on the rebound all season, our clearances haven't been that bad. We need class through the middle.

FWIW I think Sheed is not a bad option, but crouch I do not want at all.
Priddis, Kerr and Scooter are WC's main grunts. Kerr is cooked; he's done. Anything from here on in is what I'll count as a bonus. Priddis is 29 at the start of next season. He's aging, and WC can't leave it too late to draft and develop over the course of 2-3 seasons a replacement. And as many on here have noticed, he's not the guy who's going to lead this team to the promised land, for he's too limited. And Scooter is an excellent grunt, but he's just one solitary grunt, more are needed. I've made the point previously that Masten and Wellingham are tweeners. They're not the grunts WC desperately need; they're the B-team, rotation types. Shuey is capable of being a grunt, but why waste him predominantly in this role given his skill-set on the outside. The grunt needs to be handballing it to Shuey, so he can use his burst away from packs speed and his fine kicking. Hutchings is only going to be depth, IMO. I don't foresee him as anything more than that. Hence WC's primary need for a contested ball winner with their 1st round selection.

WC will get that necessary class, as well as a capable IM, if Sheed is selected.

Whilst I agree, the only issue with this is that these genuine inside grunts take longer to develop. It may be 5-8 seasons before they're at the level required to be able to hold down the job of main IM and contribute to a premiership tilt.

Ideally, Andrew Swallow could wake up one day and realise how shit it is to be at North. :thumbsu:
All the more reason to draft these IM's sooner rather than later. Scooter started performing well as an IM/tagger in his 4th season. That's about the limit Priddis has on his playing days. There are some plug and play guys, size wise, in this draft. The 3 IM's I mentioned are said to be just that.

I do rate Brown, probably a bit higher than most. If you gave him a seasons worth of games he would cement a place in there backline.

Would be a better player than Henderson
That's a big call.

I think Henderson is also fairly settled in the backline and probably won't move forward.

Awesome :thumbsu: Ive got I think 96-99. I remember spending all my monies on those stickers and you would continuously get the same ones, such a scam! Had the all australian stickers in the middle and state of origin bog. Used to love shiz like that. Ive got a heap of my old basketball cards too. Micheal Jordans, Larry Birds, Magic Johnsons, Charles Barkleys. Glory days. I kept a heap of old footy magazines, footy records and such there in a crate somewhere. Nostalgia its so in right now
OOOOO yeh i've got years worth of records from Eagles games in plastic slips and many grand final records too

A few are saying a trade for their ever so awesome mid who has played one game Viv Mitchie would be a suitable swap!

They would LOVE to have Darling in their side if they can not admit it as he is a massive upgrade on Mayne.
If we extrapolate the same logic the purple poofs are using, it's a straight swap of Tunbridge for Nate Fyfe.

Sounds fair to me, let's get it done ;)
Darling & Tunbridge for Mitchie & Fyfe. Who would win that trade?

You look at Henderson every year prior to this one though and you look at Brown now..

What helped Henderson was natural progression and a string of games. Now he looks like a capable player, at Brisbane they were happy to get rid of him and in his first year or two at Carlton he was a bit of a whipping boy.

They actually are in need of another tall although they'd want a KPF more than a back.

Still, they could move Henderson forward and play Brown in his place.
They did already.:D

"At the other end, Carlton key forwards Lachie Henderson and Sam Rowe combined for seven goals, feasting against a defence that battled hard, but lacked for height and strength."

Henderson and Walker forward could solve some of their problems and they would need to play one of Yarran, Betts or Garlett elsewhere or trade one of them.

:D:D

Yarran is a pretty flawed player, who has been on the out on his team. Think has value might be overstated a bit.
Yarren is not consistent because Carlton haven`t settled on a position for him yet with Ratten he was turning into a good rebounding running backman that was damaging to the point of getting tagged but Mick has seen some flaws in the team and wants to play him forward/wing to utilise his pace and goal kicking skills which was inconsistent even when Ratten coached ..
IMO we could do with a good ball user off HB/BP with pace and the ability to break lines and hit targets but not sure I would trade wce 1st pick ..

Bennell can do that.

We should not consider trading pick 1 unless it involves Bennell or O'Meara.

The way things are looking we will have the opportunity to pick one of the top 5 midfielders available with our first pick. Conca and Yarran can come in somehow but our first rounder should not be used.
