Well. That was exciting.

There will now be a 10-minute wait before the rookie draft begins.

The pre-season draft went for 18.8 seconds.
One of the comments, by 'Jack' I think, on the afl.com.au draft thread was: "any of the recruiters say they were shocked that Pass was available at their pick?" :D

So let me get this straight....

We gave up pick 28 for Yeo when we were offering 31. We did so when in the PSD we could have effectively got him risk free as we would have had the second live pick. The first live pick going to GWS who were committed to Lamb.

Solid....

I don't mind giving up a pick - but folding like a cheap suit over the 28/31 pick was ridiculous when we held all the cards

Someone on here was saying that Yeo refused to go to the PSD and would have re-signed with Brisbane if we'd tried that.

Not sure how true it is, but it would explain a bit.

out first rookie pick:

Position:MidfielderHeight:182cmWeight:75kgBorn:13.1.95
A medium midfielder who can also go forward. A driven individual and genuine student of the game. His clearance work and ability to make the right decisions under pressure are features of his game, as is his hard running.

Anyone have a draft profile handy?

It's not always about having the enemies head on your pike at your front gate. ;)
Some say we folded, but generally this is the way the eagles operate, they want to get a player and they make sure they get them. Not leave it to circumstances out of their control. IF, it is a big if at this stage, Yeo turns out to be the player that the Eagles think he can be then the 3 pick upgrade to Brisbane will be neither here nor there.

Welcome Will.

Callum Twomey:
As we reported yesterday, the Tigers go with Banfield. North liked Joel Tippett, and so did the Saints with Templeton so no surprise they picked him at No.3. Maginness is a good pick for the Eagles
