Blease? Has the tools, but can't seem to get a game.
BOND007 has been talking him up as a potential trade target for a couple of years now.Im guessing the reason he has never cemented his place in that side is he isn't very good

Paparone isn't a key forward given his height, more a third tall like Gunston but less developed and even less KPP like imo. He's a good young player but we really do just need to put all our resources into the midfield.

What he does have going for him is a
Massive tank can run all day with repeat efforts .
We have plenty of undersized mids why not try an oversized mid :)
Won't have anything to trade unless they want Wilson and a third .

We should have chosen Paparone instead of trading for Wellingham :(

This team feels lost, don't mean to be too much of a downer, but I really feel as though we're going to go through 5-6 years of mediocrity before we start pushing back up again.

Finishing around 10-13th for a couple of seasons with this team is a disaster.

I havent seen a lot of Paparone, but because I'm in Brisbane I have seen some of the Lions games. He looks like a winger/outside runner who can mark - I agree with Gunnar in comparison to Embley. I don't rate his disposal or decision making, but he is a second year player and has upped his performances from his debut season, showing development. The only problem is I don't really see him solving our midfield issues, he's more of a 3rd tall in a forward line or high marking HFF/winger. Don't know if we need him TBH.

I was worried Freo would come sniffing.
More than just Freo I would have thought

If we project forward to the next few years - we will have Darling, McGovern, Kennedy and Lycett/NN up forward.

There's no point having that firepower without a midfield to get it up there.

I know people are saying the midfield isn't working for Darling, but we don't need him up front. Big decisions in list management

If Darlings experiment in the midfield doesn't work then a 3rd tall role like he played in 2011 will still be a very good setup.

I'd rather trade him for a genuine gun mid than play him there.
