Mundy signed back up for Freo, ends any thought some might have had about that
That's good. He's getting old (29 in 3 weeks time) and I want him retiring at Freo. Don't want Freo getting a boost to their soon-to-be-needed rebuild by getting compensation for a player that's already given his best years to the club. When Mundy retires at Freo, they get nothing. Freo will fall off the cliff when all their retirements come on - and that time is approaching quickly.

I have been thinking the same thing, their premiership window closes this year in my OP, it will be closed for a long time too.
Imagine how hideous watching a Ross Lyon coached team full of average players will be, the purple will soon return to the norm.

Your spot on Freo are the saints of 09/10 version 2.0 and look where the saints are now. Freo will make the grandy this year and lose and then in the next 1-2 years when Pav, Mundy, Sandy, MacPharlap and co retire they will fall so fast it won't be funny as I don't see them developing any players to replace them, they seem to be throwing everything at this years flag without any thought for the future.

I kinda like their chances this year though... :(
go sydney
Yeah, I'm liking Sydney and Freo for the premiership. I don't think Hawks and Port are quite as convincing despite the ladder.

The prospect of Freo winning the premiership doesn't concern me any more than the other 16 teams who aren't the Eagles.

The young midfield they have is pretty decent. Better than anything we have.

Sorry for invading but as I'm a WA boy I felt that I might get a bit of leniency. My question, Is it time for the eagles to bite the bullet and go do a full rebuild? With the right trades and a bit of luck you could be a force in 2017, and that's not being a smart ass.

Perhaps he's someone we can target to free up Hurn for midfield time?
I really want us to get another top 20 pick for this draft.
I wouldn't mind drafting him if we did have another top 20 pick. Just don't think he would fix our midfield problems and therefore not worth our top 10 pick.

Most of our supporters have wanted greater list turnover for the last 5 years or so. We haven't gone deep in drafts at all recently. Club has been too "loyal". We don't need a full rebuild but a full midfield rebuild for sure.

West Coast already has a lot of youth, they a have a young squad. I'm disinclined to believe we've got the immediate upside to challenge in the next few years. But you never know, things can change quickly with a few players rounding out their games and maturing into leadership roles, throw in talented kids and you can be causing headaches for the punters.

Not sure a "rebuild" is a term people want to use anymore, but with a new coach i'd hope we'd have some significant turnover of our list.

What are "the right trades"?
Well for starters I would be trading anyone who is worth anything for a in and under ball winner. Not just that but a top mid then you guys are on your way. Best future ruck man(nicnat)with a player like josh Kennedy and you are going to take advantage of an elite forward group. Add a very good half back precision kicker and I think your team turns a corner

List just needs a turnover son, it's a stale vegemite sandwich at the moment.

Our list turnover the past couple seasons hasn't been all that crash hot.

I do not know who put the well ingham deal together, but I think he should be sacked! He is the weakest footballer I've seen, silky skills without size and strength in today's game is not needed
