How are we going to get to be a contender without good draft picks. Late season wins aren't going to help us now they're meaningless
It's an interesting point but i would argue in our case that by winning and in the manner that we have done, will give the playing group great confidence not only in themselves but Simmo's game plan and help restore the winning culture required to win a premiership.

Unique in that his not really comparable to a current AFL player. A lot of draftees will have a profile of likened to Player X. For example Petracca, you might suggest his inside game is likened to Dustin Martin or JP Kennedy, Pickett you might liken to Lewis Jetta etc. really just the recruiters naming a player who they think the draftee plays like.

Think of a strong bodied inside mid who can be damaging off HF as well
I would say a Robert Harvey like .

Just read the last few pages. Are you still talking about De Goey? If so, I don't quite understand why he's being compared to 'Mr Unique.' I've seen a bit of his junior footy and for me he's a big bodied inside mid that wins a high percentage of his disposals on the inside and has very clean hands in close. Skills not elite but quite good and can roost a footy. Not overly quick (hence why he wins a lot of inside footy) but quick enough and has a decent burst of pace. Marking is above average for a midfielder. He uses his big body, decent height and clean hands to win his fair share of marks against similar sized opponents. He's not quite a complete midfielder like Brayshaw or Heeney but is quite versatile. He's similar to Petracca without the elite level agility and not as quick. Ollie Wines / Josh Caddy / Jimmy Bartel are decent comparisons.

Good post and good to get a nice inside report on Degoey .The more I see of him he's looking like a good draft pick for Wce.

I Suppose it's a poor comparison to compare him to Robert Harvey a two time brownlow medalist .

Do we need another inside mid with selwood sheed collage tunbridge waterman and shuey , yeo both potential in/out mids .
We need classy outside mids with speed , endurance marking and kicking skills .
Laverde ahern garlett and Lockyer in the trade period .

No thanks if he's an inside mid.

Would rather take a chance on a slider with some Xfactor, height and pace.

One more all rounder or inside mid without height and pace will break this team
IMO we need that monster 190cm inside mid. I'm happy with Shuey, Gaff and at times Yeo on the outside. With Prussia bring our only decent inside mid, we have to play Shuey there

I could easily see Blakely being the 1st pick .He seems a logical wce pick ie a local boy ,had a good carnival ,nice size ,made the AA team ,slow moving and a certain midfielder ..

I also realise that but we still get smashed by talll midfields and there's a reason for that. That and yyou'd think Priddis will only have a couple of years left, 3 at most imo
Haha all good - I was referring to the fact you called him "Prussia" but I can't bold the font on my phone

I hope your wrong . Not having a go at you but I think Blakely is over rated . We really need to get this draft right as we have muffed the last few badly .
