I hope your wrong . Not having a go at you but I think Blakely is over rated . We really need to get this draft right as we have muffed the last few badly .
I hope I'm wrong too ..I've been hoping to get Pickett as a line breaker , game changer but the message I'm getting is he may be too risky .

So any of Laverde , Pickett ,Degoey ,Weller and Lamb I would be happy with also later maybe Garlett ,Touk Miller ,Wigg , Anderson ..

Pickett, Ahern, Laverde may all be gone. If that happens not clear where we'd go if after a line breaking type. Weller? Jarrod Garlett?

Got a feeling we may take a sliding tall at 1, say Goddard or Durdin.

Weller looks really good .Garlett would be 2nd rd +
If we were going tall then Lever or Durdin I would like .

This draft for outstanding A grade mids I think is poor ..

IMO we need that monster 190cm inside mid. I'm happy with Shuey, Gaff and at times Yeo on the outside. With Prussia bring our only decent inside mid, we have to play Shuey there
Yeo has that written all over him. Bulldog in the pack and tackles like he wants to hurt people.
Let's hope it wasn't just a flash in the pan.
What we don't want to do is create another logjam of young mids that never get much of a chance in their proper position.

Medium pace, medium size, medium height, medium disposal and medium skill. ;)

Corey Ellis is a player I wouldn't mind . Good inside game , good vision when dishing the ball out , lovely kick on both side but is a natural left footer just what we require in Simpsons game plan .

Just read the last few pages. Are you still talking about De Goey? If so, I don't quite understand why he's being compared to 'Mr Unique.' I've seen a bit of his junior footy and for me he's a big bodied inside mid that wins a high percentage of his disposals on the inside and has very clean hands in close. Skills not elite but quite good and can roost a footy. Not overly quick (hence why he wins a lot of inside footy) but quick enough and has a decent burst of pace. Marking is above average for a midfielder. He uses his big body, decent height and clean hands to win his fair share of marks against similar sized opponents. He's not quite a complete midfielder like Brayshaw or Heeney but is quite versatile. He's similar to Petracca without the elite level agility and not as quick. Ollie Wines / Josh Caddy / Jimmy Bartel are decent comparisons.
Do you have alerts set up for anyone mentioning sir Robert Harvey? You were in like a flash!

Thanks for the insight though.

Robert Harvey wasn't Robert Harvey until he became Robert Harvey.

I agree with the mids statement. Don't think I've seen Liam Duggan mentioned. He looks a smart player with good size and skills and few obvious flaws like a lot of this years crop have.

If we've moved too far up the ladder to get a very good midfielder, i'd prefer if we looked into picking whatever KPP has slid. If there is one.

If it comes down to another vanilla midfielder or a gun backman, i'd take the backman. Avoid vanilla at all costs please.

We can still 'attempt' to address our midfield problems with future trading or the rookie/PS drafts.
