Yeah clubs usually try to trade into a Top 10 pick and we (reportedly at this stage yes) might be looking at trading out of the Top 10, all because of Yeo. Hhhhmmm, I hope the club know what they are doing. Too risky for mine as well doing the trade.

Lets hope if they do go down this path and do the trade that Yeo can bridge the gap between the guy at 6 and the guy at 11. Lets hope.
are we really going to do it? give up 4 spots in the draft for pick 32 or whatever it is? I hope its the same as the shuey, selwood, gaff, darling, bullshit that afl.com.au keep feeding us. if not we are F$%&ED

It's a down grade of three live picks for Yeo.

Are we to presume that the reason we want Collingwood's second pick is to get ahead of Freo's second pick, and by extension Freo are willing to part with that pick for Yeo and Yeo is willing to go to Freo?

Only reason to budge from pick ~44 I think.
in this draft is there much difference in pick 37 to 43? just a different potato

So, Brisbane wont accept our pick 43 because Fremantle have 37 on the table and we're trying to accommodate the Lions to preserve good will and to get the deal done?

How about Brisbane do the right thing by Yeo and send him to the club he nominated rather than fighting over a 6 pick difference in a draft which is meant to be pretty even after pick 25?

I get that Brisbane are struggling at the moment but maybe it's time to start taking better care of their players.

I think with a squad that lacks top-end quality - we should be aiming to give ourselves the best opportunity of picking the best midfielder available. The idea that we've locked onto Sheed this early and are simultaneously aware that we don't need 6 to get him, is concerning. I personally would prefer to trade our second rounder (now 28) for Yeo and retain 6.

By doing this trade with Collingood and retaining our second rounder, we could get a reasonable talent to replace an extra player that needs to be delisted. Great. But I think the focus should be going after the best available 'elite' talent.
i dunno, the draft's not a precise measure of someone's talent/ability to play at the top level/right fit for a team. just because one team has different draft needs and doesn't rate a certain player as high as others doesn't mean they shouldn't be rated. let's not forget that cale morton was pick 4 and sheppard was 7, while kerr was 18, lecras was 37 and embley was 57.

by doing this trade we will pick up a top tier talent with pick 10 or 11 or whatever we're getting. losing 3 or 4 draft slots (NM have already activated their first pick) is hardly the end of the world. + we keep our second rounder and get yeo. if pick 43 alone won't get that deal done, then this is a good play.

No we wouldn't have.

He filled no need whatsoever for us.
We didn't have much of a need for Kennedy, Hvorat, Broomhead, Towers, Paparone, Wright, White ect...

Which is why we traded it out quickly for Wellingham, we only traded that pick because the match committee believed we could give the premiership a shake.

The lions might loosen up once they get decent compensation for Longer ( could go to saints for pick 18) , Polec ( Could a be a 3 way deal with GC to help them out) and Doherty. ( Pies very keen along with the Blues).

As people have said a 6 pick difference in a draft where its a roll of a dice is just silly. I hope WCE wait it out and watch the Lions falter.
