Subtle dig.
There is nothing intangible about Judd's former ability to burst from congestion with acceleration, or Ablett's ability to weave through congestion with unmatched lateral movement, composure and vision.
Sounds entirely tangible and defineable to me.
Judd's breakaways were remarkable and there was an intangible element in the sense that if you lined him up with a whole lot of other players and measured burst speed he likely would be level with a lot of others but in a game his bursts stood out because of when, how and where he did them... you can measure speed but when you watched Judd in games it was much much more than his 20m dash speed...
And how do you propose we measure GAbletts amazing ability to weave? Are you suggesting that a simple sum of his agility x peripheral vision x whatever else makes it measurable and therefore we can compare it to others?
The reality is when GC had a surprise win earlier this year GAblett took over when his team needed him to; he dominated the ball and he got the ball in "impossible" spots and kicked a couple of goals where everyone who has watched him knew he would despite the degree of difficulty. The big moment; the high degree of difficulty were no obstacle and in fact inspired him AND we all knew it would because the great ones have moments like that where they are above the game ....
You can't measure that. You can observe and describe it after the fact. But you can't put 2 players through their paces in a vacuum and measure it ...
Aish has those traits. He steps up in the big moments and his skills are, at times, otherworldly. By comparison Sheed looks a very good, very effective footballer.
Unless it's your argument that there are no intangibles. That everything is measurable ...
