Would much rather Shuey over pick 2.
I wouldnt.

He had a promising break out year when he narrowly lost the rising star to Heppell, but since then he hasnt improved from a pick 18 in the draft to a pick 1. There are at least 10 players in that 2008 draft you would take ahead of him. He is 24 next year and most, if not all of his potential has been reached now.

Weve already lost 2 serial duckers so far. Its an embarrassment and i would love to see West Coast have 2 top 10 draft picks for the upcoming draft and lose a 3rd ducker in the process.

Rosa is an adequate ball user but hardly a player that worries other sides with his kicking skills. He's a hard working spread player with no hurt factor apart from his ability to work ...

He is better than Dalziell, but so am I. He's an abjectly poor AFL player and demeans the discussion :)

Our outside players are pretty average and whether Rosa stays or goes doesn't realy matter that much in the grand scheme of things.
All true, and given Rosa's age it won't make much of a difference in the long term, but if we go into a season relying on Dalziell, Sheppard and Morton to be our outside run, we can only expect to go backwards even further. I guess it depends on where we see the team to be in terms of needing or not needing an extensive rebuild.

We got Wellingham for pick 16. From Collingwoods perspective why would Shuey be worth 11 & 12?
Because he is contracted and a better player then Wellingham.

To have 6, 11 and 12 in this draft would be very good. That's only if he wanted to leave which he doesn't.

If Melbourne wanted him they would have to put up pick 2.

All hypothetically of course.

Who in the draft would you back to be a better inside midfielder than Shuey? There really aren't any outstanding candidates, and our midfield is weak enough as it is.
Who are these 10+ players?
Who gives a shit about ducking? Every team has stagers and duckers

Pies could very well have two first round picks if the Thomas compo is rate band 1.

Which is like 11 and 12 I think. Would take both if Shuey wanted to leave.
Why? Shuey is your quickest and most damaging midfielder. Why would you trade for the chance to get a quality quick midfielder. I would have thought Shuey would be in the top 3 players at the club you could least afford to lose. It would be like us trading Pav, even though we need another key forward. If we traded Pav we would need two. No sense whatsoever to trade Shuey I would have thought.

The key part was when I said 'if he wanted to leave'.

Shuey is contracted to 2015. Shows how much shit this 'journalist' knows. How would they know he is 'warming to the idea'. He is in Texas. Are they ringing him up and asking him hey

Have always liked shuey running through the centre. Gives us some flare and speed. Not liking the idea of the thread this though ;)

Shuey isn't going anywhere. Not this year at least.
I'd take pick 2 for him in a heart beat mate, Shuey was good don't get me wrong but his body just aint up to fairs of modern AFL like Kerr. If we could snag say someone like James Aish or Luke Dusntan we could do alright in the long term with them being SA boys the likelihood of the "Run home to Momma" syndrome being nearly nil compared to the Victorian cry babies.
