As opposed to irrelevant opinion, ill trust the numbers every time.

Simple fact is statistically, with less knowledge of the game hes around the mark with the majority of his draft class. Just came a lot cheaper.

Do you know anything about the players you mentioned or just that they're a similar height?

What would you like to know? Of those listed i rate Talia the highest, all others have shown glimpses but have yet to become established players.

Some have struggled with injuries (Astbury) some have huge talent but glarring deficiencies (Butcher).

Possibly Talia excluded, none have shown consistency or performance at the highest level above that of Maj. Who i will add has also had his fair share of injury issues.

I think it was trying to say that is not only Maj that has done little since being drafted.

Not sure if that helps Majak's case or not, as a few on that list are hopeless.

Regardless, I wouldn't delist Majak as we are short on tall depth and even if doesn't make it a high level it will be no different to any other player - only reported on 30 times as much by the media.

But if they the players you list are no good how does that really say anything?

If X player is no good from X draft, making a list of other poor players in a a similar position doesn't mean we should keep a player, or their worth is somehow increased. It just means there were other poor players taken in the same draft?

ps: I an not saying Majak is no good - I think he is worth persevering with. More trying to understand your approach.

Thats the 190+ crop from his year. Personally i think most will make it as AFL players.

Just pointing out big men in general are a 3-5 year proposition even with years of football behind them before they start to show something. I just dont really think Maj is as far behind expectation internally as he seems to be judged externally.

After however many years on an AFL list, he should by now know where to stand to compete in a marking contest in the forward 50. He stands directly underneath the "highest marking point", making it far to easy for an opponent to run up and either spoil the ball or bump him under the flight of it. That he hasn't fixed that very basic problem after 4 or so years in the system suggests he isn't ever going to get it. I was a big supporter of the experiment, and wanted to get games into him, and I think the club has done that. Sadly I think it's probably time to look elsewhere.

Tis a pity Brown can't ruck like Maj, or Maj can't compete in marking contests like Brown. And that both Brown and Maj aren't built like Tarrant, for that matter.

Wallace can ruck like maj, better built than tarrant.....let's hope he develops the marking and tank.
