Harris 10, you've made your point. You have an opinion that Maj should be delisted. We get it.

Others are entitled to an opinion as well, and surprisingly, some may differ from yours.

I actually think worst on ground is a toss up between Mullet and Jacobs. I'd be happy to never see Jacobs in Blue and White again.

I'll be interested to see how Maj goes with another pre-season under his belt as he didn't get one this year and is producing as much as our other key forwards.

Worth keeping for another season but definitely needs to improve in a couple of areas. But this is an issue for many of our players.
Who of our more recent players have lifted to the level we thought they could? Do we have an issue with player development?

I obviously haven't made my point.

If you think Maj offered as much as Petrie and Black last night you didn't watch the game.

At least Black and Petrie make their opponent half accountable.

If Maj hasn't got the mental tools now another pre season ain't going to help.

Delist.

Trade/delist.......Majak, Jacobs, Anthony, Adams, Tarrant, Firitto, McMahon, Bastinac, B.Scott......there is just a few.......we need a massive cleanout unfortunately:(we wont win a flag with those types:thumbsdown:

Maj has little trade value now so if we let him go it is a write off. Agree - one more season, but he just doesn't have a clue and will cost us at times. Player development? Been asking that question all year. not sure what the answer is.

Name one tall in the history of the game who has had less knowledge of what to do without ball in hand than Maj.

And let's be honest he was just as bad before the court case thing blew up.

Must say you've got me there, I honestly don't pay much attention to guys without the ball, kind of like watching the full back of your side when your full forward is lining up for goal.:p

He's one of 38 on the list, we can afford for him to develop. Whether that's at a full forward at Werribee or AFL not my call.

His ruck work is bloody good though.

Majak looked lost tonight.
The thing is though there is no way he was on his own with this. Considering how much footy he has played compared to blokes like Wright, Bastinac, Mullet, Jacobs and Atley there needs to be some serious questioning of others as well. As I have said for months, the fact that we have NOTHING worthwhile to replace them with other than maybe Wood means they obviously couldn't give a SH!T

Thought exactly the same when someone posted that he should go because he hasn't stepped up from last season. Only Ben10 and - unbelievably - Boomer have shown better form this season than last, so we can't just delist them all. (Although it will probably be suggested.)

Having said that, Majak doesn't seem to get better with more senior experience, so if we have a fit better option Majak might as well keep developing in the VFL. Brown just looked more at home, and he did seem to get better each week until he got injured.

One more year. I'll be very surprised if the becomes a consistent AFL player.

Easy target so lets bag Majak for everthing thats wrong with the club.

Big man doesnt pressure lets delist him.
Big man that has played less than 15 games and doesnt star lets delist him.

If he had decent passes at him and fluffed them fair enough.
We have bigger issues to worry about.

Development of alot of players has gone backwards.

If we are expecting Maj to be the solution then we are in trouble. Bigger concerns around Black as he will carry our forward line post Petrie. Tarrant isnt the solution. Need a KPF asap

I think Majak may not have enough upstairs to make it at the top level to be honest.

I don't buy this "hasn't had an AFL upbringing" crap. Plenty of players have basketball or similar backgrounds and can quickly adjust to footy or other sports if they are talented enough. Watching Majak sometimes it looks like he has never seen an oval before, like he is completely lost on what is going on around him and it is quite bizarre.

I wouldn't delist, and he is not the reason we lost. I would keep for a couple of years as depth as our fwd line is shithouse, but I don't expect him to be that player we hoped for unfortunately. When Brown is fit I would replace Majak immediately.

His body work in marking contests was putrid last night. Made his overall performance look worse than it was IMO.

I didn't think Kersten offered a helluva lot more at the other end. Sometimes you need to give inexperienced talls a bit more leeway.

The only KPF who put in better than an average performance last night was Hawkins. Black show a couple of signs. Petrie was nullified almost completely. Daw took a couple of nice marks, some good ruck work, and a handful of terrible blues. Kersten was the worst of the lot. I would still swap Black and Daw for Wood and Brown. It's called dropping, not delisting.

Daw looked more dangerous than Black. Should be hanging onto his marks more, he's getting 2 hands on the pill most times. Rucked well I thought. Doesn't get any favours done with the delivery he gets.

Gibson, Mullet, Jacobs and probably Wright, drew, Black and Adams (sub I know) were worse.

Delist no, get a decent forward structure, yes. Develop a program to deal with his development that doesn't suck, yes.

Either Maj is seriously stupid and I mean special needs intellect or we are not doing a good job. I think the later.

I'm sick of this experimenting crap, come years end it's time to delist Majak.
I'd trade him personally. You gotta give to get my friend. I'd like to bundle Magic & Sauce Jacobs together in a trade for Josh Jenkins. I hear JJ is keen to come back home & surely the bright lights of Aegis Park will be enough to lure him back to our once great club. Even if we slipped JJ a brown pepper bag, we gotta do it.

Hahaha surely pulling the piss. Daw was a shoe in for worst on ground last night.

I personally liked majak. His vertical leap is amazing in ruck contests and offers something when goldie can't.

On another note, from a pt, exercise science and recreational lifter point of view. He needs to stop wasting his time doing any stupid arm and accessory exercises. Each time he is in the gym he needs to be squatting and deadlifting. His lower limb stability and strength is killing him against these naturally big boned blokes gets pushed aside to easily.

I feel we are genuinely ****** when it comes to an experienced genuine forward.. the age and experience is ridiculous comparing black to petrie

THIS! I have wondered the exact same thing, I heard Narni on the radio saying Maj can bench 150Kgs. Id be curious to see how much he deadlifts/squats, he seems so weak from the guts down and is constantly out-bodied as a result.

Exactly. Credit to dan meehan and the sport sci team for the aerobic work and endurance etc. But i can tell you with confidence that they do not do enough with power lifting/ Olympic lifting. That is what is going to improve core stability in contests, lower body strength and power etc.

They must think running is enough and the rest of the strength training is to fill out the Guernsey

Yep. But i suppose they didn't get a chance to hammer his lower body/posterior (as well as his aerobic capacity) over the pre-season due to his knee reco. Keep him in the VFL for the rest of the year, then onto a big pre-season to improve the tank and gain some FUNCTIONAL strength before unleashing him in 2015.
