Agree, Do you really think they’ll come over on 1 year deals though?

Whomever we pick, and there’s no doubt we have to now, cannot compromise our ability to go deep in next years draft and hit FA hard.

Reckon they'll jump at it, a fresh start at an important club on the up surge.
The 'll be servicable and no worst than our bottom end talent that survived 2017 list clean out.
We may reignite a career who knows , we need some luck , worth a shot in our postion.
Agree both 2018 &19drafts and FA as the AFL loosens up regulations are important .
Both drafts are excellent btw , once we've replenished we'll be on our way upwards.

None of the DFA's appeal at all tome. There's good reasons why they're not required at the old clubs, and while Mullet might be a fringe 22 player for us, we still have enough experienced players in that category already.

As for Ellis-Yolmen, even when fit he is no better than very average.

We've just got rid of a bunch of 'list cloggers', let's not intentionally go and get more.
Three words: one year deal.

Their list manager has watched SOS wheeling and dealing to get picks into the club and thinks he's worked out his own little loophole, if you delist a player, you get to have another draft pick. Genius.
They've only kicked 4 off the senior list. If they sign Morgan, they have picks 4, 23 and 64 at the draft.

They're backing in their 2016 off-season moves and have invested in the 2018 draft with two future 3rd round picks.

Thats why the crows want to pick him back up on the rookie list. They are taking the risk he's still around. I'd have him before any other DFO. 194cm and 90kg clearance specialist who can kick a goal or two.
Who has never cracked their senior team despite being exactly what they need on paper because he's too slow and loves his own kicking too much to handball it out.

And now he's coming back from a full reco, which he already came back too early from.

Mullett is clearly the best player available this year so I'm happy that looks like going through as early as today.

Like many I am surprised the Roos cut him and at 26 he's certainly capable of playing good football for us for a couple of years whilst the youngsters develop around him.

Has played predominantly off half back over the past few years but his defensive game is limited so I'd say his best position is a little further up the ground - on a wing or even a half forward flank. He lacks physicality but his disposal is generally excellent.

Very much like a 'Tuohy-lite' now that I think of a comparison.
Wing would be the ideal position for him, could dominate.

Mullet will be fine can contibute to our young team for a few years at least , a 25 yr old with 85games has good leg speed and kicking action.
Nice goal sense too should be very serviceable. I like the choice for free.

If he lifts he could even become a long term fixture in our team when Simmo retires...an exciting opportunity for him to get a second chance and be part of an up and coming team.

So are we still into Matt Shaw? Can't imagine there would be any competition for him so would have expected it to go through quickly if we still were interested.

With the number of list spots we now have would't mind him and Hartung on cheap 1-2 year contracts. No harm in it and could strike gold.

Aren't all DFO's clearance specialists?

Well played :D

Any murmurings in regards to any other possible dfas?

Wouldn't be opposed to Hartung and Crameri as support for our forwards.
