It will be a revolving door of s**t talls on short contracts because we can't develop them or commit to at least trying too.

What's wrong with Menzel? Talent wise he seems to be AFL standard and appears to be over his injuries. But delisted by 2 clubs now and doesn't seem like anyone is interested in him.

These would be some of the bare minimum actions required for managing a professional football club. They get no credit for (maybe) being competent.Obviously if he was a great player he would not have been cut, but at this point I am willing to give credit to the club for a) having a plan and b) recruiting a depth player that suits the way we're trying to play.

Force Frampton (22 yrs, 200cm) and Howard (23yrs,199cm) out of the club and then decide we haven't got enough talls so go after another club's rejects.
Buzza is 23 and 198cm. I don't see how he will fair any better at Ports under Hinkley than the other two.
Not my pointFrampton got a 3 yr deal
Howard doubled his wage and 5 years.
Buzza will cost minimum afl wage for 1 year.
If only they could do that.Port is in cost saving mode to pay for debt.
Save money not paying 100% of cap by flushing our list with first contractees, delisted free agents, fringe players, shifting veterans payments.
Put the spare 5% into the reduction effort.
With Brand probably signing with Sydney, I reckon we won't bring in any KPDs.
The club might do
AFL: Jonas, Clurey, Watts, Hoff
SANFL: McKenzie, Lienert, Grundy (+ Corcoran/Edwards)

"Still wanted" <> 1 year contract offerI think most people here seemed to have missed what was reported. This is Sam Gray walking out on us, not us getting rid of him.
All the games he played this year are irrelevant because he was still the best performing option for his role in 2019 and we still wanted to keep him as depth on our list. Having said that he's not a massive loss and hopefully some of our other small forwards can step up next year.
Yep.. bahahahahaI think it's a Menzel thing. Have you ever been to Kapunda?
Maybe not delisted yet, but definitely a tall defender
Got torn to shreds by a kid from Williamstown I'm condsidering with pick 133 for Melbourne in the Phantom draft.I like what I've seen from him put Grundy on the rookie list and get him FFS .
Is an "OK" defender. No star.
Anyway didn't our club say we had plenty of KPD's?
He looks around 192cm, which isn't that tall.
we dont need depthYeah Hartley would be okay. I wouldn't be jumping for joy over it but it'd be solid depth.
we dont need depth
we need young players to develop for the next time we’re relevant
Why not both?we dont need depth
we need young players to develop for the next time we’re relevant
we have bothWhy not both?
Hinkley has the attention span of a goldfish. He can't stick with a game plan for more than one season, so players such as talls that require multiple years to develop stand no chance. It will be a revolving door of s**t talls on short contracts because we can't develop them or commit to at least trying too.
