I hope it is just a crap rumour.
If true you wonder about the management of the club, why did we keep him hanging on for a year before letting him go.
He had supposedly been told that he would be getting elevated ( prior to his injury ). Only Dempster has changed since then, we still stuggle to fill the back line playing the likes of R Clarke and Gwilt , neither particularly suited to the role. And we don't know how long it will take Dempster to return from injury.

relax about the backline guys..
I thought it was one of our strongest areas towards the end of the year.

Rix and kosi are not the answer either, they are faaaar to slow.

Our back line was looking very fast with max, gilbert, raph, gram, fisher.

And with dempster, blake, baker, and goose adding depth we are looking ok..

I like the way our backline stands. I think the blow of Max's impending departure will be softened by a fit Goose and Blake who I think could play well as key position back if he's needed to step up. Blakeys one of those players who will commit and give it all to a job that Ross gives him.

As for the delistings, there will be definitly be some unlucky boys who get their marching orders in favor of draft picks. By the same token, all the guys HAVE had a chance to become consistent players for the Saints.
In my own humble opinion, L Fisher and Ferguson will be shown the door.
The rest is coin toss as far as I'm concerned. I'm another on the "Get nicked Fiora" club, wether it happens is anyones guess. Birss, Geary, Gwilt and McQualter are the other names that will all be mentioned for a delisting at some stage.
I dont think Attard will be retained either. No games this year would have done him no favors in a year when his rookie tenure comes to a close.

Everyones been pretty quick to out L Fisher after 1 bad year, he's been put in a role which does'nt suit him too well. Put him back to where he was when he first returned from his chronic injuries or at least keep him for depth. Delist Ferguson, Fiora, Rix, McQualter & im not too sure if gwilt can really match it at afl level.
Birss should stay.

asx for definites I'd say Rix and Fisher have had their day.. not too sure about the rest considering Fiora has a contract...

On Saintsational there was a suggestion that all the supporters should pitch in and pay out his contract, seemed to attract plenty of support.
I would think that SSS would be good for a few grand.:D

actually its very good of management to leavehim on as a rookie list during his this year since he was out with injuriy all year. they could have been more ruthless and let him go at the end of last year.

his 2 year contract on the rookie list has ended he would need to be elevated onto the main list or delisted.

Why is it good. They could have paid him some cash, and his medical expenses and told himm to P*** off. No different from telling him to P*** off now except they kept him hanging on for a year thinking he had a career.

Meanwhile they could have drafted another Rookie last year.

I wonder if Steven Armstrong will become available from WC. He's only 25 next year and picked up some good stats in the end of the season. He's quick forward, might be worth getting him in 4-5th round.

He got delisted a few weeks back mate so he is available. Bit of an unlucky bloke. Fletcher had a year to go on his contract and was eligible to go on the veterans list so that probably saved him and put Army out. Never stops trying

Armstrong was delisted by West Coast so he is available. There was a lot of people, myself included, that were quite surprised the Eagles got rid of him because he is a pretty handy player who can play midfield/forward and he is still relatively young. Very keen/hard worker on the field and on the training track too.

We could certainly do a lot worse than pick him up with a late round pick or in the PSD. I would be surprised if he doesn't end up on an AFL list somewhere next year.

Yeah I always liked Armstrong. Hard nut which always bodes well will with Lyon so could be a chance as a draft pick up. He will definitly go somewhere if not to the Saints, surely worth a late round choice.
Jericho from Adelaide is another suprise delisting I felt. Of the top of my head he is only 23 and can kick goals. I remember him slotting 5 through the big ones in a game earlier this year. Could be worth a look.
