Merenda & Taylor we know about.

Others? Harding, Prior and Sierakowski are my tips.

Thoughts?

There might be a chance we delist Embley and then if no other club picks him up relist him with our last draft pick. Assuming of course we don't trade him first.

Harding has a year to go on his contract. Therefore, he cannot be delisted without WCE paying him out - they wont do this as they are pushing it with the salary cap as it is.

I thought he was originally signed on a 2yr contract?

This is real bs. He is a waste of room on our list and our salary cap. How many games has he actually played at his time with WC?

What's the point in that?

Wouldn't we just try and trade him first.

Is it a requirement we have to delist, or do you mean we need to delist just to make room for some other guys who might be coming through.

What's the deal with Harding's contract? Earlier on this year, the West Australian said he was coming out of contract at the end of 2002. Then midway through the year, the Sundays Times dropped an 'exclusive' saying that he had another year to run on his contract.

I don't expect Prior to make the final cut. He's in his late 90s, past knee injury & limited AFL opportunities.

Really?

On the re-drafting, we need to draft at least 3 non-AFL players. Therefore delisting Embley and picking him up again would not solve our "delist minimum 3 players" problem.

I hate to keep sticking up for Harding but your post illustrates my point. Injuries have robbed Harding of the chance to prove his worth. He may have been a good player for our club.

If he has a year left on his contract - give him the chance, he may become one of the BF poster's fav's (just like Hunter and Green have become this year). If he's out of contract, I'd say he'd be struggling to get back on board with the team.

He hasn't proven he is capable of getting a game with WC, injuries or not. I remember last year when we were down to 25 players at one stage and despite being fit he still couldn't get a game.

End of the day at least 3 players must go, if he stays someone else will have to go. In all honesty, who is rated lower than Harding at the moment?

And yes, i too feel sorry for him. His injuries have ruined his time at WC and the criticism directed towards him by WC supporters is unfair.

I don't recall him being fit to play since he's been at the club. I think he played a couple of games for Claremont Reserves last year as comeback games, but I don't recall him ever being fit to be considered for senior selection with Claremont. He played a couple of games this year with their top side but again sustained an injury (possibly ankle????)

He may mot be an automatic inclusion for next year's list, but i think he should still be considered.

Merenda and Taylor have already gone... you only need one more. Prior?

He did actually play a few games for us last year (2001). Wasn't bad, but just couldn't get himself into the game.

There are several players of his type on our list who I would prefer over him. If he is constantly injured and a fringe player at best, then he is a waste of space on our list. The only reason I can think of why we should retain him is his experience compared to some of our up-and-comers. If Milli, Jako and Carroll went down, he'd probably be our most experienced defender (unless I'm missing a few players here).
