Funny enough Michael Bisping thinks it's a 50/50 fight (might be selling the card) he mentioned the size of della might play a part which is a long bow to make Poirer is 2cm shorter lol

Classic case of heart says jdm brain says Islam. Should be a really good fight card. I rewatched the Belal fight yesterday and it’s kind of hard to say if jacks defensive grappling is elite or not. He stopped some decent takedown attempts but overall Belal had a pretty pathetic game plan in that fight.
Obviously islams wrestling is whole different level and I don’t believe the weight change will be that much of a factor.
If jack wins then Australia should really start to be considered as one of the best countries in the world in mma

Islam is so over rated, he has 4x defences and 2 were short notice opponents and Volk and Dustin, resume sucks.

He struggled against Volk on a full camp, the 2nd fight means nothing.

Betting markets have Islam as ~70% favourite, understandable but it looks more 50/50 to me.

Islam is 34 years old and has two defences in the past 24 months.

I don't usually look forward to women's matches but Valentina vs Zhang could be a banger.

Markets have it basically even.

Edwards is always fun to watch.

Islam took 5 rounds to beat Volk and Dustin who were both former 145lbs

JDM is a true 170lb fighter. Discrediting him after he beat burns with a broken arm then completely shut out Belal is just stupid when islams resume involves beating retired Dustin and two short notice fights. Earned the shot beating Hooker on short notice and Bobby Green.

Islam's a great fighter no doubt but if you wanna talk resumes his is crap compared to the all time best.

The 3 fight run to get the title shot was Thiago Moises, Dan Hooker and King Green... he beat Oliveira fair play.. but Oliveira is over rated himself.. 11 losses and the title run consisted of him getting dropped every fight and no one following it to the ground... he then beat Volk which was a close fight on a full camp, some media cards had Volk winning.. 145er took him to deep waters to get the win.. UFC then shit the bed and rushed the rematch giving Volk 12 days.. imo that fight means nothing.. he beat Dustin who isn't anything special.. and finished the run with a win against a opponent on 2 days notice in Moicano... I can't think of a more over rated fighter, I'll be loading up on JDM.

I'm not super confident, I think Islam could level up going up in weight but I would say that if you're gonna shit on jdms record you'd wanna have a look through Islams then lol.

No one knows till the cage door closes, Islam could have been a depleted 155er and at 170 is an unstoppable monster.
Same breath you can look and see he struggled against full camp Volk who had massive physical disadvantages, took 5 rounds to beat Poirier who was well past his prime and then beat up short notice fighters while absolutely never taking anything less than perfect notice himself.

I think the question will be when Islam inevitably gets him down, when Jack tries his aggressive scrambles if he leaves himself open to a choke. Volk did really well defending but didn't really give up anything either to get up so we had boring back takes for half the fight.

JDM will try and get up and he will leave a door open.

I think all fights are close to 50/50 that's why I like the underdogs bet. But I can also see all the favs winning - Duriush, Edwards and Zhang losing via KO, and Morales and Jack losing via sub. Whatever happens we're in for a treat. The event builds beautifully.

You and i could beat 2 of the 3 fights della has fought in. add into that i'd back volk to roll Della.


Belal has a heart of a lion as does della but it wasn't any grappling like we will see in this . della only fought one black belt?

Has Makhachev ever fought someone of JDM's size? That's probably a huge factor here because if Makhachev can't keep JDM on the ground, then you'd have to think it'll favour our Aussie boy. Keep it on the feet and this one could get really ugly for the Russian.
