I was a little disappointed to let deluca slip to pick 35. also missing spriggs was a shame. i also have doubts that knobel will be available in PSD, because richmond missed out on securing a ruckman and KPP (roughhead was meant to be 4) - so i think they will look much more at knobel to free up injury prone stafford and simmonds.

hartlett sounds a great prospect 195cm, great pace, great skills, throws his weight around ... i think he could be the big bodied fwd/defender we desperately needed ... he was taken ahead of grundy eg who had been touted early because grundy lacks pace, which we can't afford to draft.

russel at 9 was a bit of a suprise, as personally i would have taken monfries, but they obviously see something in russel and he plays for the same club as hartlett which will make transition easier.

deluca would have been a nice story, but not the right choice at 25 imo.

Yea I think Deluca was worth a pick between 35-45 and seeing as we didn't have a pick in that range, I am definitely glad we took Hartlett at 25 head of him.

VERY happy sawns took spriggs early meaning we used all our picks on untired players.

I think we'll still get Knobel in the PSD.

They are saying as much on the Tigers board too. I thought the Tigers were interested in Patrick Bowden though ... or did he re-sign with the Dogs?

We may yet be forced to take Porter in the PSD or the best available player and hope that French, De Luca, the O'hAilpin brothers and Bryan can do the job. Plenty of risk there but really, what did Mott and Beasy do for our ruck depth last season?

Happy with Hartlett. Genuine tall and has the ability to take contested marks which is something we lack up forward.
