Brilliant. I like his observation re umpiring. Exactly how did he arrive at this by looking at records? What exactly is “favourable umpiring”? Is there a record of each decision and its merits?

Obviously one that believes free kicks should be even at the end of a match – anything other than that is an indication of favourable / unfavourable umpiring. Couldn’t possibly have anything to do with side’s defenders being technically better, or one side simply being first to the footy.

Also, Watson is slow and lacks skill, while essendon supporters constantly boo Stanton, and Fletcher never gets the #1 forward so musnt be good Let the opposition supporters cling to their delusional views, makes it all the more sweet for us.

I'd say the bigger issue was getting so far behind in the first place you had to play catch up. For such an in depth and astute judge thats an incredibly simplistic way of looking at it.
