Don't know whether this was mentioned in the thread already but Damien "Poindexter" Barrett.

After Dale Thomas came out and suggested that excessive media pressure contributed to Mick Malthouse's departure, Barrett thought it ridiculous and was even rude enough to tell Thomas to "worry about getting a kick" (did lol)

Then within a week, he was almost reduced to tears on Triple M arguing with Luke Darcy because he believes Darcy's vehement defense of Will Minson in the media contributed to Minson's appeal being successful in overturning his 'Making contact with an umpire' in the VFL.

So which one is it you little flog? Media perception can influence outcomes? or can't?

Someone needs to tweet that in his general direction. Or otherwise put it to him, succinctly and perfectly politely of course. ;)

You've got to laugh at a self-important piece of shit like Purple lecturing someone like Thomas about playing footy. Everyone is well aware that Daisy hasn't been able to recapture his form of a few years ago and his price-tag at this point in time is a bit much, but he still has actually achieved something in the game and reached heights as a player that the so-called 'best in the business' (business of doing what exactly, I'll have to look into that) could only dream of.

Jog the **** on, Damo.

Obviously from a Carlton supporter...

Ive seen plenty of Zach Merret, I constantly saw him outscore his brother last year in dream team when I had Jackson.

Merret is a good player. And he played well yesterday so I'm sure you're currently wet thighed with joy over the thought of him - but he's not better than Billins or Dunstan. And he 100% is not better than Patrick Cripps. The fact that Cripps is a better player in every aspect of the game of AFL (bar outside run) Cripps is superior in;
Size, marking, tackling, clearances, 1%'s, handpass, vision, footy smarts.
Merret might have the better field kick slightly, and might kick more goals as he plays as a half forward but Cripps is the better footballer without question.

Merret is good though, I rate him.
1. Bont, 2. Cripps, 3. McCarthy, 4. Boyd, 5. Kelly, 6. Billings, 7. Dunstan

Merret or Kolo is definitely next cab off the rank. Quality top 10 player

Coburg Lions, All Boston sides
1. Pavlich (made a career living on the tail-end of 2-3 good years)
2. Riewoldt (milking the coffers dry at Saint land giving nothing in return, and they love him for it - go figure)
3. Gibbs (chronic mismatch between reputed level of ability and actual level of ability)
4. Frawley (talked up in the media, mostly by relatives and friends of relatives to assist lucrative trade deal)
5. Marc Murphy (been an average player from day 1... amazing that he is captain)
6. Scully (contrasting ability and results to remuneration)
7. Watson (talked up in the media, undeserving Brownlow medalist, chronic media bias about his skill)
8. Kreuzer (Most club's second string ruck on a bad day is still is better than Kreuzer on a good day)
9. Swallow (in the same vein as Deledio, Cotchin, and other Victorian-based midfielders - talked up by the AFL and media to get bums on seats)
10. Tom McDonald (10+ better defenders in the AFL and that's being modest)
From overrated thread. Anybody want to guess which club they support?
