Was about to respond to a Bomber on the main board who said JOM has been ordinary so far this year.....but instead thought I'd copy and paste it here instead.

I have some times on my hands, so...

If you remove the Suns game, where he played mostly forward, and look only to the full games he has played as a mid he has Averaged 16 contested possessions a game, which is 8 more than Jordan Lewis, and 7 more than Sam Mitchell so far this year.

Averaging 7 clearances a game, 1 less than each Selwood and Dangerfield, seen as the best inside mid combo in the comp.

Averaging 7 score involvements a game, which is 1 more than a certain young midfielder being spoken about as the Next Big Thing(who is pictured in this particular Bomber posters AV, for reference).

Averaging a disposal efficiency of 65% a game, 0.5% less than this NBT also.

And all this after a 2 year lay off....which clearly isn't ordinary, unless Merrett has been ordinary too?

Not wanting to make this a Merrett v JOM discussion as they are different players and all, but it's interesting that JOM's averages are similar in the games he has played this year, if not better than Merrett's(apart from total disposals), yet one is being discussed as 'ordinary' by people and the other has a thread discussing how he's the 'next big thing'.

JOM's biggest concern right now is getting back out on the park, but from what we've already seen his form was certainly not ordinary.

** Yes, I am on annual leave. :D
Why not remove Zerretts worst game or would stats tell a different story?
Better than Zerrett he is, delusional?

Love how people think stats are the king of all arguments.

JOM has been bog average.

The fact he gets a lot of touches is a BAD thing because it demonstrates he does next to nothing with them.

In terms of cost, one of the worst trade acquisitions in the history of the game.

Anyone want to let him know that 2013's future is now? LOL

See: Norf meltdown board.
One Norf supporter felt the need to create four threads titled "Sack Scott" in the space of four minutes, despite there already being two threads there for him to vent his anger in.

Edit: There was actually five. Didn't get the chance to read what was said in all of them, mods deleted them.

McGrath would be his only competition at the moment, and he hasn't been at Burton's level this year.
Whoreforn fans back at their best after one win.

I was going to say elsewhere they have certainly got that arrogance back after one win against a team that goes to water at The G.

I wonder if the Salvos gave them their scarves back for free or charged them?

Saints up to their usual delusions on the D&T board, this time comparing Whitfield to Newnes and using it as a reason that they should get Lachie on the cheap.

This has gone next level, with some claiming that their first two picks this year would be enough for Whitfield AND Hopper. Waiting for the famed "ITK's" to latch onto this to increase their level of disappointment.

Would it really be that far out to say he could be their best recruit ever? Its not going to be Chris Yarran is it?

Ben Cousins was pretty handy

Ian Stewart was pretty handy
Kane Johnson was club captain

Even Darren Gaspar would outrank Nankervis at this point.

Regardless of those comparisons he is still destroying teams this year and has been an astute pickup.
Was a huge reason they overran the fees tonight when spencer tonight

Nankervis' performances have been over-rated - he's been a solid contributor, but was convincingly beaten by Grundy and Martin, Broke even against Kreuzer, had the better of the WC rucks and of course tonight his opponent was injured early - He should end up a bit better than Maric.

So one poster is silly enough to quote an article by the ten pint drunk, pointing out that Carlton's third quarter in particular was pretty freakin' terrible:

The response:

According to this poor excuse for a journalist Carlton's third quarter against Port Adelaide was putrid.

Essendon's illegal Performance Enhancing Drug Program was "we all feel sorry for the players and we all just want to move on".

Aaaaaand there it is! Drugz. The rolling eyes. The capitalisation of something that isn't meant to be capitalised. Bringing up something that had nothing at all to do with what was quoted.

One person at least has had enough though:

everything always comes back to the drug saga
Give this one a round of applause, although in reality they'll probably be accused of being a Dons plant and a drugz sympathiser.

Gold really.
