Who do you think will take over from David Neitz in 2006/07..

I think Neitz will relinquish the job this year, and keep playing..

For me, Id go for Bruce in 2006, Mclean for 2007..

But, Pleanty of others could get the nod!!

I would say Sylvia...but might be too much pressure on the young lad next year, seeing as he is going to be an all Australian, grand final winning Brownlow medallist. Or so I've heard :p

Definitely not Yze. He's a brilliantly skilled footballer but he's way too soft to captain the side. Melbourne would be looking at the next few years as premiership opportunities, but their weakness stands out like beacon: physicality. Yze, quite simply, loathes the physical side of footy, especially when things get a little willing. I've long held that opinion and had it confirmed by his terrible leadership two weeks ago when he let a 21 year old push him around all day (Campbell Brown).

Ideally, Neitz would stay on long enough for Brock McLean to succeed him. If not, Bruce should take the role, though i'd have similar concerns over him. Excellent footballer, but I think captains need to be tough. McLean has future skipper written all over him. He was the only bloke who stood up against the hawks' intimidation two weeks ago and he's still a kid.

He is actually playing with a crack in his collar bone hence the vest he wears under his jumper every week, and he got crunched early in that game and hurt his neck.

Just because players don't go around belting or scragging people and let their skills do the talking does not make them any less a player.
