How does Sylvia draw jones 1st up?
Because Jones is seeded, Sylvia wasn't. The only people who can't play each other in R1 are the 8 seeds (the leadership group - with Byrnes beating Dawes for 8th spot out of the nine leaders because he's played more AFL games)
I suggest Colin avoids any such thing happening next year by a) having a great season b) signing a new contact and c) winning the respect of his teammates and being elevated to the leadership group.
So theoretically Sylvia could win the b&f and still not be seeded as he isn't in the leadership group?
Wouldn't a better way to seed players be the top 8 in the b&f count from the previous season?

Why will the boom recruit be up against the b&f winner? The committee will consider your suggestion for 2014.
But then you'll get the boom recruit (2014's Dawes) vs the B&F winner in R1 and there will be more controversy. Just his bad luck that he didn't draw Dean Kent I'd say.
P.S - Enjoying the controversy. It's providing hot sizzle to the competition
Why will the boom recruit be up against the b&f winner?
Couldn't you have the last rookie pick v the b&f winner
2nd last rookie pick v R/U b&f
ext.?
