Rumour Demons breach confidentiality on a meeting with players partners

Yeeeeah they've tried to do 'the right thing' and provide clarity on a situation that obviously got tongues wagging at the club...but have gone about it in a completely hamfisted manner....and then the one woman on the call with a basic understanding of HR processes has ratted them out to the AFLPA.

Then someone has leaked it all to Tom Morris to get him to stop rifling through their bins I assume...

The road to hell is pathed with good intention...
 
I think the most important question is - was May’s partner consulted prior to this meeting and gave her permission for this private personal information related to her to be shared in this forum? Because if not (and seems like not), that’s ****ed.
 
It might not have been the club that leaked it, it might have been one of the partners on the call. It's hard to control a group meeting when one or two loose units misread the room & start mouthing off. Once something untoward is said it all kicks off. I'm such some in the meeting were close to May's missus.

We obviously don't know May's settlement contract but sharing private info outside the organisation, how stupid is that from the club? And it's not only May and his partner who could sue them or go after them. Plenty of government bodies oversee this area.

LOL at govt body overseeing anything to do with workers rights.

Can you tell the W.A govt :D . Im up to my eye balls helping a friend out in a FWC case for a govt body were his boss told him he was too ugly to be gay, got a warning and then called him a stupid homo and they both got fired over it when my friend yelled at him about it (for "raising his voice") .

They are still fighting it in court

What does it have to do with May privacy breach?

Obviously, uni is not the club but I would be fired on the spot if I did what Richardson/club did.

I personally don't like May but jeez this is flagrant breach of privacy. Like it or not.

No. This is not what happened at all. May was cleared of any wrongdoing and is still with his girlfriend.

The private "information" was factually incorrect anyway.

I’m also sure there’d be something illegal about tying someone’s entitled payout to a requirement that they don’t exercise their legal rights.

To even try that would see Melb. digging twice as bigger hole.

Seems that the Melbourne leaders said on a call that May beat up his partner. Was one of the other players partners offended on behalf of her, or did May's partner find out everyone was told and complained?

If Mays' partner didn't want the club talking about it, it would be unlikely that she was the one leaking it to the media,

So one of the Melbounre palyers partners was so offended that personal details were shared, that she ran to the media to spread it further.
What a drama-loving grub. I hope the rest of the playing group tell this bloke to ditch the toxic snake.

May has a long history of beating up women. His current partner wanting to keep it quiet is up to her, but don't falsely claim he is innocent.
Melbourne and the AFL covered up May beating up his previous partner, it seems that the new leaders wanted to make it clear to players partners that they won't stand for this, and one of the players partners ran to the media to cause a drama.
