All transfers, no matter when they are fnalised are made public. No bullshit, no rumours, just get on with busness. The club can decide whether they play him or not.
Makes the whole process cleaner and far less acrimonious.
However living in Sydney the vast majority of NRL supporters don't like the current system and that a player can agree to a contract with a new club 12 months out and it is made public, it hen starts to raise a different set of questions on the player and his immediate commitment to his current club
These same supporters want change to the current system to be more like the AFL system in limiting the window to transfer and negotiate.
