Thought he'd be the starter but Siemian will be unless he has a major * up before week 1

Both good QBs tho. Difficult part is can we keep one as a backup. Both starters in this league

Paxton Lynch completed 6-of-9 passes for 42 yards in the Broncos' preseason opener against the Bears.

Lynch needed to perform well against the Bears in order to unseat Trevor Siemian as the starter. His play against 2nd-stringers on Thursday was relatively uninspiring. He had two bad overthrows and looked slow going through his reads. The Broncos also couldn't put together a scoring drive while he was the quarterback. Lynch will need to step up next week for him to have a chance to win the job.

Broncos DL Billy Winn suffered a torn ACL in Thursday night's preseason opener against the Bears.

He'll be sidelined for the rest of 2017. Known mainly for his run-stopping prowess, Winn earned PFF's No. 40 grade out of 51 qualifiers at 3-4 defensive end last season.
