Had a pretty sh*t one today. Nothing happened. I’ll be sweet. Sometimes it just gets in your head. Just needed to put it out there. Don’t need a pat on the back or anything...spose I just wanted to vent somewhere. If I told my friends or my wife they’d probably want me to talk about about it and tell me it’s all good or something, but honestly sometimes it’s best just to except how you’re feeling and then get through it. Tomorrow is a new day and all that.
Always good to vent.

Worst thing you can do is bottle it up.

And this is the perfect place to do it.

Sometimes I feel stupid posting it on here tbh. Just a random posting on a sports forum...it’s a bit..dunno, strange. I just had to let it out though and I don’t want my wife or friends worry I’m about to go off the rails again.

Mate. Thats the entire reason I made this thread.

We may all be randoms on a footy website. But we're friends brought together for the love of NMFC.

Theres always an ear here to listen no matter how stupid the rant feels.

Just reminded me of the night in Werribee our VFL team played and Chris Jansens mum came up to me and asked if I wrote stuff on BF. The obvious give away was my best little mate, and with CJ being his favourite player, I was lucky to have never said a bad word about him 🙃

Why didn't you state that before I started posting pics of myself? 🤦‍♂️

But I do concur either way it's all ok. I say load up on this thread and make it work for you ! Cause that's the point of it.

So today was the first anniversary of my brain explosion, they say the first 12 months are the riskiest period. So was kind of looking forward to this milestone.
Well beats not arriving at it of course lol.

So I met up with the lovely ladies from the Pisces Foundation for my last round of tests. I broke the record on the rowing machine. Go me !! I want a plaque dedicated to me don't go overboard with it, out the front will be fine I told them. They said, " Matt everyone else is in their 80's". 🙄

So that put me through my paces starting with a 60 minute MRI and of course you're not allowed to move while having an MRI. They've figured me out as it was my fourth one , I get strapped to the table.🙄. They asked if I'd like to watch tele and I said yeah hit me up with Brooklyn 99. Who's idea was that? Seriously that's a funny show and I'm trying to not laugh, the porn scene where the guy says sh*t you cant look at that on a work computer and then offers to close the windows for the dude. It took him like a minute to do so.

Then onto the memory tests for the next three hours. I did good when one considers in Feb they said name as many words starting with " F" as you can and my poor mind couldn't get past "fu**" so I didn't have any 🤷‍♂️

A new man they said , so yeah I'm actually pretty pumped atm. Get a family member to tell you 8 or so words and see how many you can remember.

Then have them do sh*t like giving you 6 or 7 numbers and have you repeat them in ascending order. This was yesterday and i was knackered.

Anywho I'm in pretty good space currently, one of my escapes was footy and us being so sh*t at that wasn't ideal. Nearly as bad as me using footy for escapism. Still do though.

So have met a lovely Irish lass and we're going ok , her being 11 years my junior is I won't lie great for my bruised ego.

Again thanks peeps for this judgement free thread, we can say whatever we want without fear and that's a wonderful thing.

Peace out 👍

When I first met you, pretty sure you heard me say "any hole's a goal".

Age is just a number, doesn't matter one iota.

You're well, doing what you do best and DGAF what other campaigners think. Just keep on keeping on!

So I got my results back from the very last round of tests I undertook. I am now finished with the research and the specialists. Kind of nice to finish on a positive in 2020 Am glad they only found the one weakness as I could name plenty. And fancy suggesting I'm impulsive 🤷‍♂️ And the list of recommendations goes on for another page 🙄

Oh and this time of year isn't great for everyone and somewhere someone you know will be hurting a bit. Check in yeah?

He's a bit of the report, kind of strange having someone do this type of thing about you.

As I get older I try to be more impulsive. I think you become more aware of the passing of time and how little you may have left and how important it is to jump at any opportunity. I would say continue to be that way. Good to hear you are doing well!

Ha, yeah Luke am hearin ya. I do believe me the wind and caution are very familiar. And thank you, yeah it was a nervous 3 hours as they tested me . They then asked me about how I was and what I had been through.

The lovely lady in charge at one stage started to well up, I did offer to swap chairs. 🤷‍♂️ Oh she was very attractive and not wearing a ring, mid thirties and my mind did a wander. Life is about possibilities after all.

I am looking forward to the year ending I must admit. Suppose so are we all.

Merry Christmas you awesome bunch of the finest North supporters the world has have to offer. You do realise that one North fan is worth 1000 Pies fans.

Well i have ended up in this thread by mistake. That stupid henly home banner is slow to load and when it does it shuffles all the thread titles so where you click is somewhat random. Having said that iam glad i did as it was nice reading some of the supportive posts in this thread. Nice to see collectively that we are not total asses. Keep up the good work and remember there is also the grumpy thread as well for some light hearted whining to get of our collective chests.

Life's been pretty tough recently.
Trying to figure out my life and where to go form here.
Just entered my early 30's and don't really have any qualifications, experience in some things but nothing secure.
Future's looking a little bleak and directionless; feeling pretty depressed out it all really.
So overwhelmed that I almost feel suffocated.

I remember being 31. Was living with my dad, and feeling entirely bummed out. Had no job, no qualifications relevant to civilian society, I was supposed to be married with a career, 2 kids and 1/2 a dog or whatever the stat was. Chin up mate, something good will come along tomorrow, or the next tomorrow, or maybe the next. I bet you a dollar. I have found that the best thing about life, or 1 of them, is that something always comes along. It may not feel like it right now, but as true as I sit here right now, something will come along. It may be down a different path, perhaps a wildly different path, but something will come along. Take a breath and don't panic. I like a band called The Levellers. They have a song called "Far away is close at hand" or something, I like the sentiment of it. It's been a sh1tty year mate, 3 more sleeps and we're all back on a nice fresh deck and looking forward again.

30 is really young, don’t be afraid of jumping in to something new. I have several friends that picked up trades or changed careers after 30 and have done very well. If you can find something you do like follow that and the rewards will come.

So well what a weekend that turned out to be. I received a phone call at 9:00am Saturday morning from the lovely Ms Lisa. I was summoned to St Kilda for the weekend.
Now as a boy from the hills and someone who does suffer from anxiety that certainly didn't allow much time to work out how I'd best achieve this. My mind was now racing. Where do I park? Where is St Kilda? Is that near Moorabbin? Will my car even be there the next day? Do I have to wear a mask? Is there limits to the amount of patrons? Will I even find her? What will she say/think when she sees me?
I was asked to dress nicely but it was hot Saturday afternoon, so I went all rebel on her and decided I'm not wearing a belt! Now I'm 80kg's and as I got out of the car the button blew of my chinos😱🤦‍♂️ WTF!! I couldn't believe it, my pants wanted to be around my ankles. Oh shut up, there is no opening for a smartarse comment peeps.
Adding in where I found a park which was undercover and had security also didn't give you a ticket- like how do I pay for this the next day? Will my car be towed? The carpark closed at midnight, what does that mean? I tried ringing them but they only work Mon-Fri 🤷‍♂️. And I forgot a mask, so I didn't want to walk through the shopping centre and noticed an exit which I thought awesome but that was alarmed and freakin bam!! The place is now screaming at me.😱
I was exhausted and hadn't left the carpark. Oh when I get anxious I do sweat a bit 👍.

So now I had to make my way to the Abbey Rd cafe on Acland St where Ms Lisa was waiting. OMG ! where did all these people come from? I hadn't seen this many people since the apocalypse. My eyes where saucer like for sure, for those that play cricket it might have well have been twenty minutes before stumps on a humid overcast day, they've taken the new ball and you're up.😬

I asked for directions while holding up my pants and carrying an overnight bag, I think the dude thought I was weird and this was St Kilda! He mumbled something and pointed across the road 🙄.

OMG I scanned the Cafe and there she was this raven haired beauty , more beautiful than I had remembered. And there was me holding up my pants and sweating profusely.

TBC
