Hey ferbs, am really sorry to hear the news. The poor family, they'll need to be united and support each other. You ok? I get ex but at days end you'd have spent time by each others side:(

For the actual deed, I think once people get that far into it, they don't see any other options unfortunately. I spent a a long time what-ifing over my brother. Thinking of you and them mate.

Cheers. We weren't really close but I liked him. Its doesn't feel right. Then again these things never do do they. Death is so *en final.

I Get on well with his kids. Its them I feel for. Dunno how to play that. They'll need some support.

Its ****ed. At least I got my dads whole life. His son won't get that.

I just found out my (ex) brother in law killed himself this weekend.

fu**.

He's got three kids all under 20. They must be devastated.

Seriously if you feel that s**t for the love of god talk to someone.
Really sorry to hear that ferbs,

It's awful for those left behind. I always look back on the last message my cousin sent me before she decided it was all too much and it brings back the pain fresh.

Always helps to have someone there, so just making yourself available for the kids would be huge.

If you need anything let me know <3

Cheers DP.

Given the virus situation we might not even see each other now. I've been fighting something off all week.

It's messing with my head a bit but I'm busy so don't have time to think about it much. Those kids are struggling tho.

Hey mate
Had the exact same situation happen just over a year ago. 12 month anniversary was a few weeks ago and out of no where it hit me like a ton of bricks on the day.
It's ******* s**t and it can feel totally helpless offering support to those left with the grief of it all. Make sure you take care of you in this time.

As long as they know they've got your support :thumbsu:
It's total s**t, and offering support can feel totally helpless, but I've been told by the ones closer to the ex brother in law that's it's always appreciated and accepted.

I know a lot of people are feeling very anxious, stressed, dread and feeling a whole mix of other different emotions, so please talk to someone and talk to your loved ones during this tough time.

As I said in the virus thread, I am more than happy to take a PM just to talk rubbish, distract or talk through stuff.

We are in this together.

That’s very kind of you Kangaroos4eva. It’s very scary to think of the effect this pandemic is going to have on people’s’ mental health. I pray that everyone will be ok and get through.

I feel it to mate.

I have been watching those figures religiously, hoping that they will go down.
Its ****ed isn't it.:D

Actually it isn't as bad as I thought yet in terms of numbers, but its escalated so quickly. Three and a half or four weeks ago it was in the future if at all.

Now its here, stalking our communities and the immediate future like predator with its cloak on. I dunno... Sometimes I count the days to my potential exposures crossing them off as it gets to two weeks.

It doesn't help that it's this time of year and there is a flu epidemic on top of the usual hay fever and colds - old school corona viruses. You never know... That might help.

I've heard it suggested that young kids' immunity might be aided by their constant exposure to each others colds on primary school.

If your immune system is more active cleaning up crap I'd imagine it would come across an infection quicker and react that little bit quicker.

Was a study many, many years ago in the U.K. Ferball when a dr. noticed that there seemed to be that a higher no. of children with assorted cancers came from middle / upper class households.
Common thought was that kids from the " lower " classes built up a stronger immunity playing in the rose garden with the blood and bone fertilizer and the sandpit with god knows what in it, while the middle / upper classes were kept neat, clean and tidy.

Thanks KC.

I'm watching the funeral online and it's actually really getting to me.

I'd hardly seen Micheal since he and my wife's sister divorced. Wish I'd made some sort of effort to stay in contact recently. I'd had a hunch I should have.

His kids are great and I got on really well with his dad. I just watched dad get up to say goodbye to his son and had to come out the back and sit down. I'm typing this to get it off my chest as much as anything so thanks for this thread DarkPhoenix. Both his parents are old and vulnerable now too.

Sometimes the world is a ****ed place.

I know this virus has gotten to everyone and there are those who have lost livelihoods and I understand the stress. But I’m honestly under the belief I’m cursed.
Weddings been cancelled postponed till October.

My car got serviced yesterday. Had the centre console replaced too under a warranty dispute.
Left work to find it’s been sideswiped and written off.
This after my brother wrote off my car last June.
There are also delays to my apartment due to defects.
And I almost drowned at Apsendale during summer.

I pretty much only had footy as a constant but I can’t play locally nor even watch North anymore cause of the lockdown.

It’s been a pretty s**t 12 months and all whilst I’ve been engaged!

It’s compelled me to post in here for the first time because in all honesty I’ve just about become emotionally numb to life right now.
And I know plenty of you blokes on here who know what that feels like.

End of the day I just laughed. When it’s one bad event after the other all you can learn to do is laugh.

Anyone else feeling shithouse for no reason? I've set up in the country to ride this out and it's really nice and comfortable but mentally I'm having a torrid experience.

How so?

Just cos of the uncertainty or more?

And fwiw this situation is a valid reason to feel shithouse, don't beat yourself up over it. We've never seen anything like that and been under the illusion that everything in our lives was relatively stable.

I've never felt a real earthquake but people I know who gave say things like:

"It's still going."

"I'll never feel on solid ground again."

This isn't a physical earthquake but it is a metaphorical one.

My immune system is compromised due to meds, and I work in a hospital, so for the first time in over a decade I applied for assistance just til this s**t blows over but my specialist was resistant to a certificate because he doesn't believe I am at risk (Despite the government saying otherwise?). If healthy people aren't supposed to be around more than 2 people it doesn't make much sense to for me to be risking myself like that. Needless to say I had to pop a diazepam before due to overthinking and anxiety over it. My poor mum has been affected too, she needs botox injections in her skull every 3 months to prevent migraines and vertigo and they have cancelled that.

Do you have access to another specialist?

Can your current specialist give you specific reasons as to why they think you'll be okay?

Because if they can't I'd be seeing someone else.

You might have to give your mum head massages in the areas where the muscles get too tight. That might provide a little relief.
