Would it be worth while telling Banfield to tag McGovern? Just sit on him, tall enough to spoil and would whoop him if the ball hits the floor.

Every ******* derby he destroys us. Lock him the **** down.

You stated he was a terrible centre square ruck. I was just polnting out that making that type of assessment after a handfull of games is a big call, whats hard to understand about that.

Anyway I've played enough footy , watched enough footy and the ruck contest / clearances are always the most interesting part of the game for me to feel confident to give a reasonably considered opinion I think

All I would like to see is Jones in for the bounce , Darcy starts fwd then once the bounce is done Jones drifts fwd and Darcy on the ball
THIS week , not forever or trade Darcy or he's never going to be any good but to give us a better chance THIS week

Unfortunately all of our coaches wont try things like this, why don't we just put Walters on McGovern with the instruction that we kick everything at their feet so he can run off him.

We will probably wait until Gaff has 20 touches at half time before anyone plays on him, just like we thought about putting someone straight to Mitchell last week but didn't bother doing it until he had got 11 in the first quarter alone.

Its not about kicking the ball to McGovern. The problem is we bomb the ball in the forward 50 and McGovern out marks the likes of cox, Walters and Langdon

The last couple of derbies, the Eagles have defended the corridor well and then pressured the ball carrier leading to a dump kick down the line. It’s not so much about McGovern, Hurn or Yeo being brilliant (although all 3 are very good players). It’s about them beating us in the midfield, and our midfield not running enough.

Let’s hope for more energy around the ball to “stretch” their midfield defence.

Jones cant jump and if he was any slower would be stationary. Cant see him being part of our future but Darcy is a different kettle of fish and should play.

Ps I seem to be doing the same as you ,being critical of a player after a handfull of games.
But thats BF in all its glory.
