Race 1 - Bodgie, 2nd last time, extra distance looks fine, K.McEvoy to ride, nice barrier, i think he'll improve again.

Race 3 - Nediym's Glow, goes well at Flem. Good last start.

Race 4 - De Lago Mist, carried weight against the boys last time, came home well on unsuitible track, finished alongside Ankh Morpork and Egomaniac, back to fillies here, 2000 suits, DA Hayes.

Race 5 - Rewaaya, 2nd in Toorak, back to mares here.

Race 6 - Sirmione, will go 2500.

Race 8 - Fast N Famous, won down the straight last time which is ideal.

Egomaniac will get the 2500.

And if he doesn't get boxed in like he did at Caufield he will win this race no doubt. Has as much potential as Efficient imo. And imo is better than Plastered.

Was still moving at the end of the 2000 at Caufield and will wind up well at Flemington.

GO EGO!!

Might have to have an interest bet on Ego as I backed him at Caulfield. I'd be jacked if he won and I wasn't on him.

2,2 Maybe Better - Mayfield-Smith thinks it's group 1 standard. Impressive when beating King of Ashford (who I was on) last week. Flemington to suit.

4,4 Anamato - Hayes has always said he has rated this one highly and has obviusly done enough for them to press on to the oaks. Am willing to go with this one over the stablemate Ulfah.

7,5 Sphenophyta - Freedman wouldn't be going on if he didn't think it had this in him. Fighting effort in the Caulfield Cup and if it was in the Melbourne Cup I would be having something on it. Apparently, if it wins this it may run in the cup. Becoming one of my favourite horses.

Race 1 - don't like the race.

Race 2 - Magic Instinct -really keen on him today. Just beautifully weighted, great barrier & is overdue for some luck. Tried to track Tawqeet in the Metrop but was stopped in its tracks. Just can't see some of those up in the weights being able to give him such a weight advantage. This race is traditionally won by lightweights.

Race 3 - Will stick with Splashing Out. Three wide at Caulfield & was entitled to drop out but just kept finding, will be nice odds as this is her toughest test. Form enhanced by Corton Charlemagne last week. Toughest to beat IMO Danleigh, Green Birdie & Nediyms Glow.

Race 4 - Anamato - shocking barriers for many of the chances here. Went to the Guineas rather than the fillies option & ran on OK without threatening. Will need luck but hoping her superior ability will get her home. Of those drawn well Rendzina toughest to beat.

Races 5,6 & 7 - will be working around the CLASS horses.
Rewaaya - will just get the gun run again & will look the winner at some stage.
Efficient - incredible horse. The way it rounded them up & then just grinded to the line was outstanding at the Valley. Just continues to amaze.
El Segundo - Just better than these at WFA over 2000m. Get your money back & more from last week.

Race 8 - Miss Andretti is flying but Im starting to get concerned about the weight she is giving to others now. Really still undecided but will work around Fast N Famous, Natural Destiny & Shadoways (well weighted).

Race 9 - Raffle to be assessed when I know my $$$ situation. May look at a wide trifecta depending on funds. May need to snip by this stage. ;)

Good luck all, on the best days racing of the year.

Bloody hell, four races down and I am having a shocker so far.
Im with you Nick although if Reewaya can get up, I will get the running double with Tuesdays Joy & the start of the revival will begin.
First few races were quite costly.

Fair run. The placing means I will end the day fairly well ahead, regardless of how the Phyta goes! :thumbsu:
