Let me point it out to you again.

Two towns, one in Australia and one in England. Both have the same spelling (Derby, just to make sure you following)

The one in England is pronounced DARBY

The one in Australia is pronounced DERby

now, out of those two, which one is more Australian?

Think for a second here, because it's a tough one....

There are three in Australia. Are you saying they are all pronounced the same way?

DArby seems far more satisfactory to me.

The sound of someone using the dErby pronounciaton is cringeworthy, almost as bad as hearing someone say Irregardless or Haitch. You can even see some of the commentators hesitate prior to saying dErby, as it is such a disgusting use of the English language.
