Wow. Lifeline for the Browns, if the NFL voids his contract and void the trade too. Maybe the NFL wants to do that to too because they dont want that 250m guaranteed precedent to be in play. Many owners pissed with the Browns for doing that.

The NFL should forfeit the picks.
The Browns should lose their picks for being idiots and trading for Watson without proper due diligence. And Texans should lose the incoming picks from the Browns for helping mask the deviant behaviour by one of their players.

Everything that has happened in the last week is about Buzbee getting his settlement money. All the reports are coming from him. The ‘new’ girls he’s somehow found. Put the pressure on the Browns and the NFL to make Watson settle - which he showed he would when Miami demanded it.

I reckon it’s more likely that the NFL will tell him he won’t play again until it’s settled/over. And if he settles by a particular date, they’ll only suspend him for half a season.

Right from the start, Watson’s side said how they welcomed a criminal investigation because they knew they’d win. I think they perhaps put too much stock in the outcome of that.

But being guilty or innocent doesn’t matter now. Public opinion had already been lost. He could fight it for years, win all the civil cases and it still wouldn’t matter.

Settle, accept a lesser suspension and nobody will care by next year.

Na, Trade should not be Null and void. Browns deserve to lose the picks and gain the dead money. but Texans should forfeit the picks. Both teams and Watson deserve punishment.

The Washington Post's Mark Maske reports the NFL "will argue that Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson should receive a 'significant' suspension for violating the league’s personal conduct policy."​

Maske added that a person on Watson’s side of the case said the league will "probably" seek a full-season suspension. A source of Maske's from the NFL side of this issue cautioned him on guessing the exact length of a suspension. The count of women filing suits against Watson is now at 24 with another pair of suits potentially on the way. The increasing number is adding further stress on the league to take serious action against the quarterback. Maske also noted that the league wants to have the disciplinary process and resulting appeals completed by the start of training camp. For the Browns, that date is July 27th.
