The missus is going to be watching the Bachelor finale and I'm real keen to run a nightfall raid as I need those coins to see Xur this weekend, campaigner better have some decent Hunter armour

Will be around. About to head online to do some strikes.

Tried the nightfall yesterday - it's really tough - got him down to about a third of health before being overwhelmed.

ugh, on level 28 I take it?

I'm tempted to do the mid range one which is a guarantee of passing, and getting the 6 coins at least and maybe hitting the harder one again when I've bought some exotic armour and leveled up, because I have 10 coins now so max I can get is up to 19 which isn't enough for a weapon anyway, and the first priority in any case is to maximise my light by getting armour, because that effectively gives you better weapons anyway by doing more damage with the weapons you do have.

By the same token, you know how I was thinking I shouldn't upgrade my Queens chest? Now I'm having a rethink. The easiest way for me to level up at this point, that's guaranteed, is by maxing out that piece. Now, that will cost me precious shards, but if I am stronger I am more effective in VoG, and since all I seem to get in that are shards, then it might actually be worth spending the shards I do have to level up, because it makes it easier to get more shards. Does that make sense do you think? **** it's a really hard thing to think through

Nightfall strike is L28 and if the whole party dies you have to start from the very beginning.

I'm thinking of upgrading everything armour wise to make 28

yeah once you're at 28 it's going to be easier to get better loot and hence more shards, so if I have a piece of legendary armour now and I have shards now then it's actually dumb to be holding off upgrading...

Sorry re Nightfall, I got confused. It's the weekly strike that you get the coins isn't it
