Uh Oh.... Not a great move by Deej. You don't say that they are going to give something "better" out because they have no idea how the community will value whatever "this" is compared to what the collectors edition offers. What happens if it isn't what people want?

This right here is the kicker:

This autumn we want to have a moment of convergence where players like you and me who are engaged with Destiny can match up with people who are just joining in, who didn't pick the game up last year for one reason or another.

It's essentially an MMO, you ****ing moron. Day one players don't want to 'converge' with new players - they want them to earn their way up the ranks and earn their way to the same loot (in this regard I say 'earn' lightly though, because of the backwards, nonsensical loot system...but we'll let that slide) just as we did.

They will never give day one users valuable rewards while they are still stuck in this mindset. The Collector's Edition bullshit is just another example. They don't care about the long-time users; they know they're already hooked and they can keep sucking money out of them. They care only about bringing in the fraction of gamers that have not yet bought Destiny.

Well actually, don't tell anyone, I've spoken to Deej personally. They're going to add the Final Round perk to every bullet of Thorn, along with tracking. Deej said they're just not happy that there is still a percentage of people not using Thorn. Good guy Deej.

I'm going to wait until Destiny 2 Expansion 3 (Yet to be named) then I can pre-order the Super Combo Destiny Exotic Special Max Level Edition which comes with Destiny + TDB + HOW + TKK + Expansion 1/2 + Destiny 2 + Fallen House of Whores + Cabal Exotic Cows + Expansion 3 (Yet to be named)!!

I get the frustration, it wouldn't have been hard to give a few small cosmetic items to the long time players, something different from the CE who still get the whole buffet of Destiny.

If that interview was legit, seems odd that they would give a big FU to the loyal fanbase they rely on so heavily to improve the game, and one that requires a loyal fanbase to sustain it.
